Congratulations, Ayessa!

It is my great honor to announce that MS. AYESSA TIN, an applicant from our District, has been selected by the Trustees of The Rotary Foundation as among the 2026 Rotary Peace Fellows.

Ayessa is one of only 130 Peace Scholars chosen from around the world for a fully-funded peace fellowship.

As a Peace Scholar, Ayessa will study at the University of Bradford, England, UK for a Master's Degree program on Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution beginning September 2026.

Ayessa is a Women, Peace and Security (WPS) Practitioner based in the BARMM, Philippines with over a decade of experience in public policy and peacebuilding.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from MSU-General Santos City and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Ateneo de Davao University.

I thank all the Rotarians who helped Ayessa in the rigorous application process, notably, PAG Rosemarie Josue & Pres. Michael Arañas and all the good Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Cotabato East.

I have also invited Ayessa as one of our special Speakers and Honorees during our upcoming District Conference 2026 "Oh La La Valencia" in Valencia City on May 1-2, 2026.

We are sending our warmest congratulations and best wishes to Ms. Ayessa Tin on this great honor for the District and her upcoming academic journey as a Peace Fellow!

2025 City Youth Officials Lead the Way in Environmental Stewardship 🌱
The 2025 City Youth Officials answered the call of the Cotabato City Tourism Office by taking part in a Tree Planting Activity on September 27, 2025, at Kalanganan 2, Cotabato City.
This meaningful initiative reflects the commitment of our young leaders to heed the call of the Local Government in protecting and preserving our environment. Their active participation stands as a testament to the next generation’s readiness to champion sustainability and ensure a greener, healthier future for Cotabato City.

Joint Governor’s Address 2025 ✨
The three Rotary Clubs of Cotabato—Rotary Club of Cotabato, Rotary Club of Cotabato East, and Rotary Club of Cotabato City South—came together in unity and purpose for the Joint Governor’s Address held on September 22, 2025, at Pagana, Cotabato City.
We were honored by the presence of District Governor Marlowe Selecios and his lovely wife, PAG Mai Selecios, whose leadership and inspiration continue to guide District 3870 toward greater heights of service.
This gathering brought together Rotarians from across Cotabato City, strengthening bonds of fellowship and reaffirming our shared commitment to Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self. Together, we move forward with renewed passion to create lasting change in our communities and beyond.

District Governor Marlowe Selecios, together with his gracious Lady, PAG Mai Selecios, made their Official Club Visit to the Rotary Club of Cotabato East on September 22, 2025, at Pagana Restaurant, Cotabato City.

During this meaningful engagement, DG Marlowe commended our club for being among the most compliant and vibrant clubs in District 3870—a recognition that affirms our collective dedication to service, fellowship, and Rotary excellence.

The visit not only strengthened our bond with the District leadership but also inspired us to continue raising the bar in advancing Rotary’s mission within our community.

The Rotary Club of Cotabato East, under the leadership of Pres. Michael Aranas, extends its heartfelt gratitude to the City Government of Cotabato, led by Mayor Bruce Matabalao, for the warm welcome and steadfast support given to our 2025 City Youth Officials.
The Closing Program, held at the People’s Palace Cotabato, became a fitting culmination of their journey as the club proudly handed over Certificates of Recognition to these young leaders—symbols of their service, dedication, and promise for the future.
We also convey our profound thanks to City Administrator Maha Midtimbang, whose guidance and commitment ensured that our youth officials experienced not just a program, but a truly memorable and empowering chapter in their leadership journey.
Together, we celebrate the spirit of partnership and the bright future of Cotabato City, entrusted to the hands of our next generation of leaders.
