NCIS Communication Response Team in Action

The Northern Cebu Intercommunication Society, Inc. (NCIS) proudly deployed its Communication Response Team during the PASOS Procession at Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

Our dedicated volunteer operators ensured smooth and reliable radio communication throughout the event—supporting crowd control, monitoring safety conditions, and coordinating with marshals and emergency responders.

Through discipline, teamwork, and commitment to public service, NCIS continues to strengthen community safety and preparedness, especially during significant religious gatherings.

UNDAS 2025 NCIS OPERATIONS
Northern Cebu Intercommunication Society, Inc. (NCIS) conducted radio communication support and public assistance during Undas 2025 across various cemetery locations in Northern Cebu, with the Incident Command Post (ICP) stationed at Manila Memorial Park, Liloan, Cebu.

Volunteers provided communication coordination, traffic assistance, first aid support, and information services in partnership with local barangays, PNP, and cemetery management to ensure a safe and orderly observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days.

Workshop Overview
The event was a "Radio 101 and Antenna Workshop" organized by the Northern Cebu Intercommunication Society Inc. (NCIS) in partnership with the Cebu Institute of Technology University Red Cross Youth (RCY).
Main Objectives and Focus
The workshop's primary goal was to equip youth volunteers with essential knowledge and practical skills in radio communication and antenna construction.
The training focused on:
* Fundamental concepts in radio technology.
* The principles of radio communication.
* The frequency spectrum.
* Transmitter and receiver operations.
* The vital role of radio in disaster response, emphasizing its ability to ensure connectivity when conventional communication fails.

* Learned about different antenna types and their functions.
* Engaged in hands-on construction and testing of antennas designed for disaster communication.
* Disaster simulations were conducted, allowing RCY members to practice applying their learned skills to relay critical information during emergencies.
