April 23, 2026 – The Board of Regents, through the Office of the Board Secretary, has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Raffy B. Chavez as the second University President of Northern Iloilo State University (NISU).

The decision was made during a Special Board Meeting held at the CHED Central Office, presided over by CHED Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis. The Board convened specifically to review and approve Dr. Chavez's appointment, marking a significant leadership transition for the university.

Prior to the said appointment, Dr. Chavez served as the Campus Administrator of NISU Sara Campus and he has held the role of Vice President for Administration and Finance of the university, bringing a wealth of experience to his new position.

The appointment of Dr. Chavez is expected to enhance NISU's commitment to academic excellence and community engagement as it continues to serve its students and stakeholders in the region.

4𝐓𝐇 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

In celebration of Northern Iloilo State University’s transition to universityhood, the institution will hold its 4th University Week Celebration from April 20 to 22, 2026, across its campuses, bringing together students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders in a three-day festivity.

The event aims to commemorate the university’s milestones and achievements while fostering unity and school spirit through various academic, cultural, and recreational activities anchored on the theme, “Excellence in Motion: Leading with Integrity, Innovating with Purpose, and Transforming Communities.”

Organized by the university administration in collaboration with student and campus organizations, the celebration will feature a series of activities designed to highlight talent, leadership, and community engagement.

Through this annual observance, the university continues to strengthen its commitment to holistic development and institutional excellence, encouraging the academic community to actively participate and embody the values reflected in this year’s theme.

Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) announces the resumption of face-to-face classes across all its campuses starting April 13, 2026.

Students are encouraged to take simple precautions to help manage the heat while on campus.

Stay well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day, wear light and breathable clothing, and use umbrellas, caps, or other protective gear when moving between buildings.

It is also advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, take short breaks in shaded or well-ventilated areas, and be mindful of any signs of heat-related discomfort.

Everyone is advised to remain updated and await further announcements through the Official University page.

Sa espesyal mong araw, sana mapuno ito ng saya, pagmamahal, at mga ngiting magpapagaan ng puso mo. Nawa’y maging simple pero masaya ang bawat sandali, kasama ang mga taong mahalaga sa’yo.

Maraming salamat sa pagiging ikaw, isang taong likas na nakapagpapagaan ng pakiramdam at nagbibigay saya sa mga tao sa iyong paligid. Nawa’y sa araw na ito, ikaw naman ang tunay na mapasaya.
