ILOILO CITY โ€“ Competing against the best student artists from across the country, Davao de Oro State Collegeโ€™s Live Band team placed fifth during the National Culture and Arts Festival (NCAF) 2026 held at the Western Visayas State University.

Stepping onto the national stage, the team showcased its musical prowess in a highly competitive field, with Ilocos Region emerging as champion, followed by Region XII, Western Visayas, and Caraga Region.

The group was led by vocalists Shynde Dominique G. Madrazo and Althea O. Abacial, whose dynamic performance anchored the bandโ€™s entry. Rounding out the bands suave sound were Klent Jay Ozy P. Morabe, Butch O. Aracena, Klint Jay G. Marabe, James Lloyd B. Pacquiao, and Eric Vliz A. Decatoria.

Coached by Dr. Jeric E. Suguis, the team delivered a smooth rendition of the song โ€œMr. Kupido,โ€ captivating both the judges and the audience with their polished vocals, tight instrumentation, and engaging stage presence.

Judith R. Tudy, Director of the Student Affairs and Services Division, who led the delegation and personally supported the performers, commended the team for their dedication and discipline.

Furthermore, she emphasized that the groupโ€™s achievement reflects the institutionโ€™s continued commitment to excellence in culture and the arts.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lilybeth M. Matunhay extended her congratulations to the team, lauding their strong showing on the national stage and for bringing pride and honor to the college and Region XI.

As of press time, Cris Lourince Repogio is representing DdOSC and Region XI in the Essay Writing Contest, as the week-long festival continues.

๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ ๐Ÿ | Poetic Buskers Society (PBS) at DDOSC Kumbate โ€˜25 Night Market

Throughout the four-day intramurals, the ๐๐จ๐ž๐ญ๐ข๐œ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ค๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ (๐‘ท๐‘ฉ๐‘บ) added to the chaotic yet exciting atmosphere on the campus of ๐ƒ๐š๐ฏ๐š๐จ ๐๐ž ๐Ž๐ซ๐จ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ ๐ž. Not only were the members able to sing and play instruments, but other students also joined in to jam with them. On the first day, the two previous presidents of the organizationโ€” ๐‘ด๐’“. ๐‘ฒ๐’†๐’๐’• ๐‘ญ๐’“๐’‚๐’๐’Œ๐’๐’Š๐’ ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’—๐’†๐’› (AY 2023โ€“2024) and ๐‘ด๐’“. ๐‘พ๐’Š๐’๐’๐’š ๐‘ท๐’‚รฑ๐’‚ (AY 2024โ€“2025)โ€” attended the intramurals, making the busking sessions even more enjoyable.
