Filipinos commemorate Araw ng kagitingan to honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of the "Heroic defenders of Bataan" during World War 2.

During the Bataan death March, more than 70,000 Filipinos and American soldiers are forced to surrender and already weakened by diseases, hunger, exhaustion and suffered harsh tropical conditions.

Today, Araw nga kagitingan is a remembrance to the wartime suffering and sacrifice, and a tribute to the heroes who showed bravery amidst the war.

As a scout we continue to honor the people who fought, sacrificed, and showed reselience for our country's independence.

The Third Sunday of Advent is marked by lighting the Candle of Joy, also known as the ๐‘บ๐’‰๐’†๐’‘๐’‰๐’†๐’“๐’…โ€™๐’” ๐‘ช๐’‚๐’๐’…๐’๐’†. This candle represents joy and rejoicing, reminding us of the happiness the world felt when the birth of Jesus was near.

This Sunday is also called Gaudete Sunday, from the Latin word meaning โ€œrejoice.โ€ The color rose (pink) is used to show a break from the penitential purple of Advent, symbolizing gladness and celebration. The joy comes from knowing that Christโ€™s coming is very close.

The Candle of Joy teaches us that true joy is not just about happiness or celebrations, but about hope fulfilled, Godโ€™s love, and the peace that comes from welcoming Jesus into our lives.

On this Second Sunday of Advent, we light the
๐ถ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘™๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘“ ๐ฟ๐‘œ๐‘ฃ๐‘’ โ€” a symbol of Godโ€™s endless and unconditional love for all of us. This light reminds us that love is more than a feeling; it is a choice, a calling, and a gift we are invited to share with others every day.

As we prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ, may this candle inspire us to love the way He loves: patiently, humbly, and without limits. Let this season soften our hearts, strengthen our compassion, and guide us to care for those who need comfort, understanding, and hope.

On the first Sunday of Advent, Christians light the Candle of Hope, also called the ๐‘ƒ๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘โ„Ž๐‘’๐‘กโ€™๐‘  ๐ถ๐‘Ž๐‘›๐‘‘๐‘™๐‘’.

This candle reminds us of the hope that the world had while waiting for the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. It symbolizes expectation, faith, and the belief that God keeps His promises.

The prophets in the Old Testament, especially Isaiah, foretold the coming of a Savior who would bring light into a dark world. Lighting the Candle of Hope shows that even when life feels uncertain, we trust that Godโ€™s light and His promises will guide us.

In Loving Memory of Our Fellow Scout ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our fellow Boy Scout, ๐Š๐ซ๐ž๐ฑ ๐ƒ๐š๐ง๐ข๐ž๐ฅ ๐€. ๐˜๐›๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ง, a proud Scitechian, Grade 9 student, a beloved son, brother, and friend.

He is now laid to rest behind the ๐€๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐๐ข๐จ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐š๐ง ๐’๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐’๐š๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ ๐จ ๐€๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฅ ๐๐ž ๐‚๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐š, near Mama Mary Grotto. For those who wish to pay their last respects, the wake of Krex Daniel A. Yburan, along with his brother and father, is being held there.

We continue to pray for the safe return of his mother, who remains missing as of this writing.

During this weekโ€™s Techno Scouts formation, the members gathered with a shared commitment to service and unity. The activity served as an opportunity to strengthen the foundations of communication, teamwork, and camaraderie, especially in welcoming our newly recruited members. As part of their familiarization, the gathering highlighted the importance of national and Scouting traditions through the recitation of the Lupang Hinirang and Panunumpa, as well as the reaffirmation of the Scout Oath, Scout Slogan, and Scout Motto. The session also introduced the symbolic practices of the Scout Sign and Scout Handshake, culminating with a solemn benediction. Through these meaningful activities, the Techno Scouts continue to uphold the Spirit of Scouting, nurturing growth, discipline, and leadership in every member.
