CSAT Student Leaders Join Forces for First Quarter Coastal Clean-Up Drive

Claveria, Cagayan โ€“ February 21, 2025

Student leaders of the Claveria School of Arts and Trades (CSAT) actively participated in the First Quarter Coastal Clean-Up Drive held on February 21, 2025, along the coastal areas of Claveria. The activity gathered youth leaders, uniformed personnel, and community volunteers in a united effort to promote environmental protection and coastal conservation.
The clean-up drive was conducted in cooperation with the Katipunan ng Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo Claveria (KKDAT Claveria), the Philippine National Police - Claveria (PNP Claveria), and other civic-minded volunteers who share the same advocacy for a cleaner and safer environment.
The CSAT Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) took part in the initiative through their environmental campaign, Project Green Hands, Clean Lands, which aims to instill environmental responsibility, strengthen community involvement, and encourage sustainable practices among learners.
Equipped with gloves, sacks, and cleaning tools, the student leaders combed the shoreline to collect plastic waste, discarded bottles, wrappers, and other non-biodegradable materials that threaten marine life and coastal ecosystems.
The activity is part of their continuing commitment to support local environmental programs and to serve as role models in promoting ecological awareness among fellow students. The collaboration with KKDAT and PNP Claveria also emphasized the importance of youth engagement in nation-building and community development.
The successful conduct of the First Quarter Coastal Clean-Up Drive highlighted the power of partnership between schools, law enforcement agencies, youth organizations, and the community. Beyond the collected sacks of waste, the activity symbolized a collective step toward preserving Claveriaโ€™s coastal beauty and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship among the youth.
Through initiatives like Project Green Hands, Clean Lands, CSAT student leaders reaffirm their dedication not only to academic excellence but also to meaningful community serviceโ€”proving that when hands unite for a cause, cleaner lands and brighter futures are within reach.
