The festival takes its name from the Cebuano and Surigaonon word "PANAGHIUSA," which translates to "unity," "coming together," or "solidarity". It stems from the root word "HIUSA," meaning to unite or to become one. It serves as a reminder that true progress is achieved through working together as one community.

Held every September in the Municipality of Claver, the festival coincides with the annual town fiesta in honor of Saint Peter Claver, whose feast day is observed on September 9.
The festivities span several days leading up to and around September 9, featuring a variety of events for everyone to enjoy:
