𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐠 "𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭" 𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐰𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐧.

Ngayong buwan ng Marso, ipinagdiriwang natin ang National Women’s Month, isang panahon upang kilalanin ang mga kontribusyon, tagumpay, at patuloy na pakikibaka ng kababaihan sa ating lipunan. Karaniwang iniuugnay ang buwang ito sa tema ng women’s empowerment—ang pagbibigay ng mas maraming oportunidad, boses, at representasyon sa kababaihan. Gayunpaman, hindi sapat na pag-usapan lamang ang empowerment sa abstraktong paraan. Ito rin ay tungkol sa ugnayan ng kababaihan, paggawa, at ang papel ng estado sa pagkilala at pagprotekta sa kanilang trabaho.

Maraming uri ng trabaho ng kababaihan ang nananatiling hindi nakikita o hindi sapat na kinikilala, lalo na sa care economy, tulad ng pag-aalaga ng mga bata, matatanda, at pamamahala ng tahanan. Bagama't mahalaga ang mga gawaing ito sa pagpapatakbo ng pamilya at lipunan, nananatili itong hindi nababayaran at sistematikong minamaliit. Bukod dito, marami ring kababaihan ang nagtatrabaho sa precarious o hindi tiyak at walang kasiguraduhang trabaho at sa impormal na sektor, kung saan kulang ang seguridad sa trabaho, benepisyo, at proteksyon. Mas malinaw pa itong makikita sa karanasan ng mga migranteng kababaihan, na kadalasang nagtatrabaho bilang domestic workers o caregivers sa ibang bansa sa ilalim ng mahihirap na kondisyon.

Sa ganitong konteksto, mahalagang pag-usapan ang kababaihan hindi lamang sa lente ng empowerment, kundi sa mas malawak na tanong kung paano kinikilala, pinahahalagahan, at pinoprotektahan ng estado ang kanilang paggawa. Higit pa rito, nararapat lamang na itulak ang mga patakaran at pagkilos na tunay na magbibigay ng dignidad, seguridad, at hustisya sa paggawa ng kababaihan.

Sigma Delta Pi Sorority proudly commences Women’s Month.

Not merely a season of polished tributes or rehearsed praises but a quiet turning inward.

This month, we step beyond the manicured language of “empowerment” and enter a garden where feminism grows untamed, rooted in truth, sustained by solidarity, and blossoming through collective struggle.

Within these gates, we not only celebrate women who have “made it.”
