The Boy Scouts of the Philippines โ University of Northern Philippines Laboratory Schools proudly held its Unit Council Camporal from October 28 to 30, 2025.
In line with the celebration of National Scouting Month 2025, the activity showcased the Scoutsโ unwavering commitment to leadership, discipline, camaraderie, and service, all anchored on this yearโs theme: โPrepared as One: Promoting Gender Fairness and Cultural Respect in Disaster Management.โ
The camp began with the setting up of tentsโ a simple yet symbolic start to another meaningful Scouting journey. This was followed by a seminar on gender equality led by Dr. Ma. Jesusa Ridor-Unciano and an orientation that prepared the scouts for the exciting days ahead. A Eucharistic Mass then brought a moment of reflection and gratitude, grounding every Scout in faith and purpose.
Despite the rain and the long, tiring walks and lifts, the Scouts pushed through with smiles and determination. Vigan Emergency Response Team (VERT), Vigan Youth Emergency Response Team (VYERT), and University Emergency Response Team (UNIVERT) led the training on Basic Life Support & First Aid, Hands only CPR, and Rope Techniques followed by team-building activities up until the much-anticipated Gender Switch event, every experience became a lesson in courage, cooperation, and resilience. As night fell, the campfire illuminated the grounds, a warm reminder of unity, friendship, and the true spirit of Scouting.
The camp concluded with an awarding ceremony that celebrated not just achievements, but the dedication and spirit that define every UNP-LS Scout.
Through every challenge and every bond formed, the flame of Scouting continues to shine, brighter, stronger, and ever ready. ๐ฒ๐ฅ
