We are pleased to invite all interested participants, particularly pharmacists, pharmacy educators, and professionals in related fields, to the seminar entitled
“Understanding Pharmaceutical Quality Systems and Related GMP Core Systems”, to be held on July 20–22, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Robert Hoeppener Hall, USC – Talamban Campus, Cebu City.
This program aims to enhance knowledge and competencies in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality assurance.
The seminar will be led by esteemed industry experts:

Topics to be covered, based on PIC/S and ICH Guidelines, include:
• Pharmaceutical Quality System
• Product Quality Review
• Pharmaceutical Quality Risk Management

This activity is held in partnership with the USC Pharmacy Graduate Student Association and the USC Student Chapter of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (USC SC of ISPE).

𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐃 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐘 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞

Last April 25, 2026, the University of San Carlos – School of Health Care Professions successfully conducted another monthly visit of 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐘, a community extension service program established in 2024, promoting interprofessional in-home clinical care for patients in Nasipit, Talamban, Cebu City.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐊𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐘 is a community-based outreach program spearheaded by the School of Health Care Professions (SHCP) together with the SHCP Council of the University of San Carlos in partnership with the Departments of Nursing, Pharmacy, and Nutrition and Dietetics. The activity brought together Master’s and PharmD students, alongside undergraduate students and faculty members from Nursing, Pharmacy, and Nutrition & Dietetics, in a collaborative learning experience centered on compassionate community healthcare.

Patients were visited in their households, where teams conducted health and vitals assessments, medication review and counseling, nutritional assessment, dietary counseling, and wellness monitoring tailored to each beneficiary’s needs.

Beyond service, Project Kabanay continues to embody the spirit of Interprofessional Education (IPE)—where future healthcare professionals learn with, from, and about each other while improving patient outcomes.

The event concluded with a meaningful reflection session where students and faculty shared experiences, insights, and discussions on how to provide even better care for the community moving forward.

The USC Department of Pharmacy proudly welcomed 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗦. 𝗛𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗻, 𝗥𝗣𝗵, 𝗠𝗦𝗰, an alumnus of the USC MS Pharmacy program and PhD student at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.

Last April 17, 2026, Mr. Hinolan delivered an engaging lecture titled “𝗦𝗲𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 (𝗠𝗢𝗙𝘀)” for MS Pharmaceutical Sciences students enrolled in MSPS 6212D – Emerging Technologies in Drug Delivery.

The lecture introduced students to the promising applications of Metal Organic Frameworks in pharmaceutical sciences and drug delivery systems. Participants also gained valuable insights into Mr. Hinolan’s journey as a PhD student in Taiwan, including his academic experiences and cultural perspectives.

The USC Department of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the USC Pharmacy Graduate School Association, successfully held “𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵” last March 17, 2026, at the 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗯𝗯𝘆, 𝗨𝗦𝗖 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀.

The booth was on skin health promotion, where attendees learned about suncare, acne, skin care routine, skin moisturization, common rash, allergies, itching, and fungal infections. The activity brought together Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Master’s students, alongside pharmacy undergraduate students. The Pharmacy Graduate Students participated in skin health promotion, particularly for suncare.

The activity highlighted the importance of the correct use of products for skin health promotion. Thank you to everyone who joined us in this meaningful activity!

The Department of Pharmacy proudly features David S. Hinolan, RPh, MSc, a Carolinian Pharmacist alumnus. Hinolan is a PhD student at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science, College of Medicine, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.

He will deliver a lecture titled:
“Seeing through the Frameworks of Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs)”

This lecture will be held on April 17, 2026 for MS Pharmaceutical Science students enrolled in MSPS 6212D – Emerging Technologies in Drug Delivery.

The Department of Pharmacy warmly welcomed Professor Kenji Sugibayashi, Ph.D., in the University of San Carlos as he visited his students in the Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Science. Dr. Sugibayashi is an esteemed honorary distinguished professor at Josai International University and holds the position of Distinguished Appointed Professor at Josai University. He specializes in pharmaceutical and cosmetic sciences and has an extensive publication record (H-index = 57), including over 370 original articles, 150 reviews, and 70 patents, as well as book authorships.
