This Sunday, June 21, 2026, we honor the fathers and father figures who have continuously shaped our lives through their sacrifices, wisdom, love, and unwavering support.

Father’s Day is not only a celebration of the fathers written on our birth certificates, but also a tribute to the people who chose to step into the role of a father and made a lasting impact in our lives. We recognize the fathers who raised us, the mothers who courageously became both a father and a mother, the eldest siblings who took on the responsibility of guiding and protecting their younger siblings, the uncles, mentors, guardians, and everyone who became a source of strength, guidance, and love.

More than just a celebration, Father’s Day reminds us to appreciate the importance of fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the meaningful role that father figures play in building stronger families and communities.

To all the amazing fathers and father figures, thank you for being our source of courage, inspiration, and hope. Your sacrifices, kindness, and dedication create a lasting impact that goes beyond generations.

𝙅𝙪𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙈𝙚𝙣'𝙨 𝙈𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙡 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝.

For generations, many men have been taught to carry their burdens quietly, to be strong, composed, and unshaken no matter what life throws at them. Yet behind the smiles, jokes, achievements, and everyday routines, many continue to fight battles that remain unseen.

Mental health struggles do not discriminate. Stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and emotional exhaustion affect countless men, yet many hesitate to seek help due to fear of judgment, expectations, or the belief that they must face everything alone.

This month serves as a reminder that strength is not measured by how much pain one can hide. Real courage is found in speaking up, reaching out, and allowing oneself to be supported.

A simple conversation can make a difference. A genuine "𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂?" can become a lifeline. By creating spaces where men feel safe to express themselves without fear or shame, we take a step toward breaking harmful stigmas and building a culture of understanding.

To every man carrying more than he lets others see: 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙, 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙜𝙜𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙢 𝙖𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙚.

Ngayong araw, ating ginugunita ang 𝗶𝗸𝗮-𝟭𝟮𝟴 𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗼 ng pagpapahayag ng 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 at binibigyang-pugay ang katapangan, sakripisyo, at matatag na diwa ng bawat Pilipinong naghangad ng isang malaya at nagsasariling bansa.

Noong 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘆𝗼 𝟭𝟮, 𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟴, sa Kawit, Cavite, ipinahayag ni 𝗛𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗼 𝗔𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱𝗼 ang kalayaan ng Pilipinas mula sa mahigit tatlong siglong pananakop ng Espanya. Sa makasaysayang araw na ito unang iwinagayway ang watawat ng Pilipinas at unang tinugtog ang ating pambansang awit, 𝙢𝙜𝙖 𝙨𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙜 𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙖𝙜-𝙖𝙨𝙖, 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙠𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙞𝙨𝙖, at 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙢𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙣.

Bagama’t dumaan pa ang bansa sa iba’t ibang pagsubok at pananakop, nanatiling matatag ang diwang Pilipino sa pagtatanggol ng ating kalayaan. Noong 𝟭𝟵𝟲𝟮, opisyal na inilipat ang pagdiriwang ng 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗮𝗻 sa 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘆𝗼 𝟭𝟮 upang kilalanin ang tunay na araw ng pagpapahayag ng ating kasarinlan.

Nawa’y magsilbing paalala ang araw na ito na ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang bahagi ng ating kasaysayan kundi isang 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗮𝗻. Patuloy nating isabuhay ang pagmamahal sa bayan, pagkakaisa, at paglilingkod para sa ikauunlad ng ating bansa.

Our planet is precious, and right here in Cebu, we feel the effects of environmental changes firsthand. From our busy streets to our beautiful coasts, our actions today shape what our city will look like tomorrow. 🏡💚

Today is a reminder that the Earth does not belong to us — we belong to the Earth.

Whether big or small, our actions matter. From keeping our surroundings clean to protecting our waters, every effort counts.

🌿 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆:

✅ Dispose of waste properly – Never throw trash on the streets, canals, or rivers. Segregate biodegradable from non-biodegradable waste so it doesn't end up clogging our drainage systems and causing floods.

✅ Say NO to single-use plastics – Bring your own eco-bags and water bottles. Less plastic means less pollution in our seas and less waste piling up in our landfills.

✅ Save water and energy – Turn off the faucet while brushing and switch off lights or appliances when not in use. Conserving these resources helps reduce the strain on our city’s supply.

✅ Plant trees or keep greenery – More plants and trees help cool down our warm weather, provide fresh air, and prevent soil erosion especially in our upland areas.

✅ Join clean-up efforts – Even just sweeping outside your home or helping in your barangay’s cleanliness drive makes a big difference in keeping our community healthy and safe.

✅ Be kind to nature and keep Cebu clean

Narito ang pahayag ni Liberal Youth Chairperson Addie Demafeliz ukol sa mapang-hati at mapangwaldas na pamumuno ng mayorya sa Senado sa ilalim ni Alan Cayetano, na sagabal sa pagresolba sa krisis sa presyo ng mga bilihin at pangunahing pangangailangan.

“Hindi na natin afford paswelduhin ang mga tamad at palamunin tulad ng Malas na 13 ni Cayetano, habang naghihintay ang milyon-milyong commuters, interns, at kabataang inaasahang pumasok araw-araw para sa kanilang mga pamilya, kahit masakit na ang kanilang mga katawan at bulsa.

Hindi na natin afford ang gulong ito dahil ang tunay na nakaka-10,000 araw-araw ay si SP Cayetano, na dapat nang maibaba sa pwest, imbis na ang sambayanang literal nang nalilipasan ng gutom at oras.”

Ngayong araw, nasaksihan natin ang isang mahalagang yugto sa kasaysayan ng Senado—ang pagbabalik ng isang Senado na handang magtrabaho para sa mga Pilipino.

Nagpapasalamat tayo kay Senador Kiko Pangilinan at sa lahat ng bumubuo sa bagong mayorya sa Senado sa pagpili na unahin ang mandato ng institusyon at ang kapakanan ng sambayanan.

Ngayon, panahon na para magtrabaho.

Ipasa na ang mga batas na direktang makapagpapabuti sa buhay ng mga Pilipino. Harapin ang mga isyung matagal nang naghihintay ng aksyon. At tiyaking ang Senado ay muling magiging institusyong nagsusulong ng pananagutan at katotohanan.

Ituloy na ang impeachment trial at hayaan ang proseso ng Konstitusyon na umusad nang walang pagkaantala.

Ituloy rin ang mga imbestigasyon sa mga kontrobersiyang may kinalaman sa flood control projects upang mailantad ang katotohanan at mapanagot ang sinumang mapatunayang nagkamali.

Hindi ito usapin ng politika o ng panalo ng isang grupo laban sa isa pa. Ito ay usapin ng pagbabalik ng Senado sa pangunahing tungkulin nito: maglingkod sa taumbayan, maghanap ng katotohanan, at tiyaking walang sinuman ang higit sa batas.
