𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯 | 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆: 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂'𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵

The third and final day of the LYDO Team Building and Strategic Planning focused on translating the ideas and strategic directions developed throughout the workshop into concrete policy outputs, marking another milestone in strengthening youth development efforts across Cebu.

The day began with the drafting of the Constitution and By-Laws (CBL) of the League of LYDOs, led by League President Christian Joecep Lazarte. During the session, participants carefully reviewed each provision of the proposed Constitution and By-Laws, engaging in collaborative discussions and refining its contents line by line to ensure that every article reflected the collective insights and consensus of the League before its adoption.

This was followed by the Youth Code Drafting Workshop, facilitated by Elizar Sabinay Jr. of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO). Building on the strategic planning outputs from the previous day, participants collaboratively developed the initial draft of the Cebu Provincial Youth Code, translating their shared vision, identified priorities, and core values into a policy framework that reflects the aspirations of Cebuano youth.

The activity concluded with the presentation of workshop outputs, the announcement of succeeding technical meetings to further refine and finalize the draft Youth Code, and the awarding of certificates to participants and resource persons in recognition of their active participation and valuable contributions throughout the three-day activity.

As the three-day workshop came to a close, the participants reaffirmed their shared commitment to sustaining collaboration, advancing responsive youth policies, and working collectively toward a stronger and more empowered future for Cebuano youth.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮 | 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗔𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻

The second day of the Local Youth Development Officers (LYDO) Team Building and Strategic Planning centered on strengthening the capacity of Cebu's Local Youth Development Officers through policy updates, strategic direction-setting, and collaborative planning.

The morning sessions featured resource speakers from the National Youth Commission (NYC). Ms. Cybel Tantay facilitated the refresher on the Roles and Functions of Local Youth Development Officers, reaffirming the responsibilities of LYDOs in advancing youth development at the local level. Mr. Mitch Vargas presented the SK Web Portal, demonstrating its features and role in streamlining youth governance processes. Meanwhile, Mr. Crissan Bantaya discussed the draft SK Mandatory Training (SKMT) Accreditation Guidelines, equipping participants with the updates policies and standards for SKMT implementation.

Providing the provincial strategic context, Assistant Provincial Administrator Aldwin Joseph Empaces presented the Provincial Youth Strategic Roadmap, highlighting the Province's long-term priorities for youth development and emphasizing the importance of aligning local programs and initiatives with a shared strategic direction.

In the afternoon, Mr. Empaces facilitated a strategic planning workshop that laid the groundwork for the development of the Cebu Provincial Youth Code. Through collaborative discussions and workshop activities, the Local Youth Development Officers conducted stakeholder analyses, identified key priorities in youth development, defined the core values that will anchor the Youth Code, and crafted a shared vision for the Cebuano youth over the next five years. These collective outputs will serve as vital inputs in developing a responsive, values-driven, and future-oriented Youth Code for the Province of Cebu.

The day's sessions underscored the importance of strategic leadership, collaboration, and long-term planning in building a more coordinated and responsive youth development ecosystem across the Province of Cebu.

The first day of the Local Youth Development Officers (LYDO) Team Building and Strategic Planning set the tone for the three-day activity by strengthening collaboration, building trust, and fostering meaningful connections among Local Youth Development Officers from across Cebu Province.

The team-building sessions were facilitated by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI) through facilitators Paul Aldrin Villamora, Marjun Taran, Vince Marie Yap, Shaun Silagan, and Fitz Anne Marie Magsayo. Through a series of interactive games, group challenges, and reflective activities, participants developed stronger communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills while cultivating mutual trust and camaraderie.

Beyond promoting team cohesion, the activities were intentionally designed to prepare participants for the succeeding strategic planning sessions. Each exercise encouraged collaboration, critical thinking, and shared decision-making—laying the groundwork for productive discussions on youth development priorities and the collective vision for Cebu's youth.

The day's activities reinforced the importance of teamwork as the foundation of effective leadership, setting the stage for meaningful planning and stronger partnerships in advancing youth development across the Province of Cebu.

Glimpses from the ABTIK Voters’ Education Training of Trainers—a day of learning, collaboration, and leadership as youth champions.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗩𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀

Cebu's young leaders gathered for the ABTIK Voters' Education Training of Trainers, a full-day learning experience aimed at strengthening voter awareness, responsible citizenship, and community-based voter education.

The program opened with registration, preliminaries, and an energizing icebreaker facilitated by RAFI, setting the tone for a day of meaningful learning, collaboration, and youth engagement.

The first session, "Understanding the Electoral Process," was delivered by Omar Sharif Dilangalen Mamalinta, RN, JD, Election Officer III of COMELEC Carmen and Cebu Communications Focal Point Person for Voter Education. He provided participants with a deeper understanding of the Philippine electoral system and emphasized the importance of informed participation in democratic processes.

Participants then engaged in an open forum before proceeding to Session 2: "The Importance of Your Vote," facilitated by Adam Lester Patajo. The session was followed by a Mock Election activity, allowing participants to apply their learning through a simulated voting exercise.

In the afternoon, another interactive icebreaker by RAFI re-energized the participants before John Carl D. Montebon, Policy and Planning Officer of the Cebu Provincial Youth Development Office (CPYDO), delivered the session "Think Before You Share: Identifying Fake News and AI-Generated Content." The discussion equipped youth leaders with practical skills to recognize misinformation, verify online information, and become responsible digital citizens.

The learning sessions concluded with "Action Planning: Designing the Local Rollout," facilitated by Rodalee Otadoy, Program Development and Implementation Officer of CPYDO. During the workshop, participants developed strategies to bring voter education initiatives back to their respective communities.

The training concluded with a Commitment Ceremony and Toolkit Turnover, reinforcing the participants' shared responsibility to promote informed, empowered, and responsible voting across the Province of Cebu.

Through initiatives such as the ABTIK Voters' Education Training of Trainers, the Cebu Provincial Youth Development Office (CPYDO), together with its partners, continues to empower young leaders to become advocates of democratic participation, responsible citizenship, and informed voter engagement.

🌈𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗘𝗕𝗨 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗦, 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘🌈

More than 𝟐𝟎,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 from Cebu Province, Cebu City, and neighboring local government units filled the streets on June 27, marching together from the Capitol to Plaza Independencia in one of Cebu’s largest celebrations of Pride.

The 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 proudly joined this historic gathering, where thousands stood as one in promoting love, equality, respect, and inclusion. Seeing communities, government agencies, organizations, and individuals come together under one rainbow flag is a powerful reminder that our diversity is our strength.

As we continue to empower the youth, we also reaffirm our commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and welcoming spaces where every Cebuano can live with dignity, authenticity, and pride.

Together, we move forward—united in celebrating diversity and building a Cebu where everyone belongs. 🌈
