ORAI - Organization of Rehabilitative Advocates for Inclusion

ORAI - Organization of Rehabilitative Advocates for Inclusion Agencies and advocates serving persons with disabilities (PWDs)

HISTORY:This umbrella organization of government and non-‐government agencies began in 1983 under the name Organization of Rehabilitation Agencies (ORA) upon the initiative of the Department of Social Welfare and Development—7, the Rev.Fr. Peter Zago of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the eager participation of a few agency representatives who aimed to work on the ideals set forth by the United Na

tions, which proclaimed 1981 as the International Year of Disabled Persons (IYDP). It was
incorporated and registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 26, 1989. In July 2013, ORA changed its name to Organization of Rehabilitative Advocates for Inclusion (ORAI).
