Project Ripple

Project Ripple 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the partnership which has become Project Ripple.

Starting with one school in the mountains of Cebu back in February 2015, it has grown as more schools have come under our wing over the past decade. With a formal MOU in place with Obo and Cancabalong Elementary Schools under the Dep Ed ‘Adopt-A-School Program’, we have ‘expanded’ to provide ad hoc informal support to other needy schools in Cebu.

Our September project delivered long awaited hexagonal tables for five of our supported Kindergarten teachers. Let's hear from Mrs. Maricel Ponce Bata-in and Mrs Analyn Flores from Lipayran Integrated School, Bantayan, Cebu on what this means for their classrooms and pupils.

“The hexagonal tables donated by Project Ripple have brought remarkable improvement to our kindergarten classroom. Their design has made the room more spacious, allowing our young learners to move freely and safely during playtime. The hexagonal shape encourages interaction and collaboration, making it easier for children to engage in group activities and share ideas during circle time. It naturally forms a semi-circle, promoting collaboration and communication among learners. The tables, repainted in bright and cheerful colors, also help children identify their groups easily based on color, while creating a lively and welcoming learning environment. Moreover, these tables have enhanced classroom organization, improved focus during group tasks, and fostered a stronger sense of belonging among the pupils. Truly, the hexagonal tables have not only transformed our classroom space but have also supported the holistic development of our kindergarten learners — making learning more engaging, cooperative, and enjoyable.”

We recently delivered thirty (30) new plastic kiddy chairs to our Adopt-A-Schol partner Obo Elementary School in Dalaguete, Cebu. These new chairs for Mam Josephine's Kindergarten and Mam Windylen's Grade 1 classrooms will replace the previously donated child friendly chairs from around 2017. The pupils are already enjoying the comfort and support of these new chairs with their new hexagonal tables.

Our September project delivered long awaited hexagonal tables for five of our supported Kindergarten teachers. Let's hear from Mam Ma. Teresa C. Belarma from Lingatong Elementary School, Dalaguete, Cebu on what this means for her classroom and pupils.

“Having a hexagonal table in my kindergarten classroom has been truly beneficial for my young learners. Its unique shape allows children to sit facing one another, which encourages collaboration, communication, and social interaction. This setup makes group activities, art projects, and hands-on learning more engaging and organized.

The design also helps me as a teacher to easily facilitate discussions and monitor each child’s participation, ensuring that everyone feels included and valued. Overall, the hexagonal table creates a more interactive and cooperative learning environment, fostering both academic and social development among my learners. I am sincerely thankful for your generous donation of hexagonal tables. Your kindness and support truly make a difference in creating a fun, interactive, and child-friendly classroom environment”.

World Teachers' Day is an international day held annually on 5 October to celebrate the work of teachers. Established in 1994, it commemorates the signing of recommendation by the International Labour Organization and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

Today we celebrate the dedication, self-sacrifice, and professionalism shown by the teachers in our Project Ripple partner schools every day of the year. It's our pleasure to be able to provide resources and educational material to support your mission.
The World Teachers' Day 2025 theme is "Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession". This theme emphasizes the crucial role of teamwork, shared expertise, and mutual support among teachers and with the wider education community to enhance teaching, learning, and the profession itself. Long may our collaboration continue to shine!

Our thoughts and prayers are with the communities in northern Cebu who were impacted by the 6.9 earthquake. Those who were injured and those who are grieving the loss of loved ones, especially the children who lost their young lives. Project Ripple has made a financial donation to provide immediate water and food as part of the aid convoys going north. We will see what we can do to provide aid in the months ahead during the long road to repair and rehabilitation of local schools so that students can continue their education. Bangong Cebu!

Thankfully none of our partner schools in Dalaguete or Bantayan Islands were affected and all are safe and well.
