Adopt-A-Wish Program

Adopt-A-Wish Program ABOUT US

Adopt-A-Wish Program was created from our Psychological First Aid (PFA) activity. Rosa, Sta. Fe. The activity was then called "Wish Upon A Star".

We did this program for the kids survivors of typhoon Yolanda in Bantayan Island on November 30 - December 1, 2013, particularly at Poblacion, Madridejos and Sta. The kids were asked to write their wishes on a cut out star that we had provided for them, and made them feel that it is not the end of the world yet. That they can still hope for something on Christmas Day. We wanted to teach them the

virtue of optimism above all calamities. From that activity, we created the idea of "Adopt-A-Wish Program" to grant their wishes so as not to give them false hopes. We, the volunteers/administrators of Adopt-A-Wish Program solicited from our generous friends all over the world. We have not just only granted the kids’ wishes but we also gave them school supplies, toys, noche buena package and relief packs for parents as well, when we came back on December 22 to 23, 2013 for our follow up mission. It was such a rewarding experience for us. The outcome was overwhelming as we looked back and saw our videos and pictures. It made us teary-eyed and gave us goosebumps. We did not know how we're able to do it. All we know, we are just a few individuals with big hearts to help others although we don’t have that big pockets to make it happen. We are just instruments of God used to deliver help to those who are in need.
