Yesterday, March 11, students from University of Cebu – Main Campus came together in support of the victims affected by the recent fire incident near the University of Cebu – Banilad Campus.

With the support of nursing students from the University of Cebu – Main Campus, the NSBO and UC CARES-CON officers traveled from UC Main to UC Banilad to personally deliver the collected donations. The students gathered essential goods such as cup noodles, bottled water, and canned food—simple items that carry a meaningful message of solidarity and compassion.

This effort reflects the true spirit of the UC community: standing together, supporting one another, and showing that in difficult times, no fellow student is left behind. Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this initiative possible. 💙

𝑊ℎ𝑜 𝑘𝑛𝑒𝑤 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑡 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑑𝑒𝑒𝑝𝑙𝑦 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑠 𝑉𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑒’𝑠 𝐷𝑎𝑦?

Love was not just in sweet words or roses, but in the calling to care, to heal, and to serve. As we celebrate our Capping, Badging Investiture, and Candle Lighting Ceremony, we are reminded that nursing is truly a mission of love. While others receive flowers and chocolates, we are entrusted with something far greater which is responsibility. Instead of bouquets, we are gifted with caps placed with honor upon our heads and badges pinned close to our hearts, symbols of trust, commitment, and readiness to serve. Each candle we hold does not only glow with light, but with a reminder that we are called to be bearers of hope in our patients’ darkest moments.

On this day of hearts, we choose a love that goes beyond romance — a love rooted in service, sacrifice, and empathy. May our light continue to shine in every life we touch and every patient we care for.

In light of the recent earthquake that struck Cebu on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, leaving hundreds of families in the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻 displaced and in urgent need of assistance, the UC-SBOs Initiative is launching a donation drive to extend relief and hope to our fellow Sugboanons.

Through the collective effort of our student body, we aim to provide essential needs such as bottled water, hygiene kits, and other immediate necessities. Your generosity — even in the smallest amount — will make a meaningful difference in rebuilding lives and restoring dignity to those affected.
