Not all graduations happen in grand halls.
Some happen in borrowed spaces, with borrowed books, and hearts that refused to give up on a child’s future.

Today, these young minds from Labangon Elementary School didn’t just complete a program — they proved that access can change everything.

For 8 weeks, they showed up. They read. They learned. They grew. And most importantly, they believed that they could.

Minds on Wheels was never just about books. It’s about building bridges — from where they are, to where they deserve to be.

This is what impact looks like. Not numbers. Not reports. But faces, stories, and futures quietly rewritten.

MINDS ON WHEELS MAKES HISTORY IN CEBU CITY!

Since the inception of Minds on Wheels back in 2019, our mission has always been clear — to serve public schools in the province and bring literacy closer to children who need it most. Over the past years, we’ve completed 16 Learning Drives across different provincial communities, touching young minds one story, one word, one dream at a time.

And yesterday, we proudly turn a new chapter.

For the first time ever, Minds on Wheels has officially launched its very first Learning Drive in Cebu City — right here at Labangon Elementary School.

Our mobile library will be staying in Labangon for 8 straight weeks, bringing books, learning modules, teacher volunteers, and most importantly — hope. And this milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our partners:

You are the heartbeat of this advocacy. Thank you for believing in our vision.

Minds on Wheels is not just a moving library. We don’t simply visit, read, and leave. Since 2019, we’ve followed a structured 8-week Learning Module designed to strengthen the reading and comprehension of our Grade 3 to 5 learners — helping them learn 80 new words and build confidence that lasts far beyond the classroom.

There’s so much more we’re excited to share — stories, progress, testimonies, and dreams unfolding week by week. So brace yourselves as we’ll be a little noisy online.

Minds on Wheels Launch Update

To all our volunteers, partners, teachers, and friends —

Over the past few weeks, classes in both public and private schools across the city have been suspended due to the series of earthquakes and the recent storm. We were set to launch Minds on Wheels last November 7, but the weather once again reminded us that safety must always come first.

We understand the anticipation, and we feel it too — our team has been eager to finally roll out our mobile literacy program and bring books, stories, and learning closer to the children who need it most.

That said, we’re officially moving our Minds on Wheels Launch to November 21, 2025.

Let’s all hope (and pray!) that no storm or quake interrupts us this time — just sunshine, laughter, and the joy of learning.

We deeply apologize for the repeated postponements and thank you all for your patience and continued support. This mission is for the children, and together, we’ll make it happen.

Following Mayor Nestor Archival’s advisory suspending face-to-face classes in Cebu City this week (in light of earthquake response), we’re moving the Mind on Wheels launch to Friday, November 7, 1:30 PM.

Same venue. Same program. Same energy - just a safer date for everyone.

Minds on Wheels Launch Rescheduled

In light of the City’s suspension of classes from October 13–18, 2025 for all public schools, Minds on Wheels will be moving its Launching Event to ensure everyone’s safety and participation.

🗓 New Date: October 24, 2025 (Friday)
🕐 Time: 1:30 PM

📍 Venue: Labangon Elementary School

We fully support the City’s precautionary measures and join the call for earthquake preparedness. Safety always comes first — and as learning continues online, so will our commitment to bringing education closer to every community.

Let’s take this time to stay alert, stay ready, and stay kind.

MINDS ON WHEELS: PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

In light of the recent announcement from Mayor Nestor Archival regarding the suspension of all face-to-face classes in Cebu City starting October 6, 2025 (until further notice) and in consideration of the ongoing safety assessments, we will once again reschedule the official launching of Minds on Wheels.

New Launch Date: October 17, 2025 (Friday)

Time: 1:30 PM

Venue: Labangon Elementary School

This decision ensures the safety and well-being of our partner school, teachers, volunteers, and the children we serve.

We thank everyone for their understanding and continued support as we work hand-in-hand with the Cebu City Government and the Department of Education to align our efforts.

Important Announcement from Minds on Wheels

In light of the Cebu City Government’s official suspension of classes in all public schools on October 2–3, 2025, due to the recent earthquake, Minds on Wheels will move its official City-Learning-Drive Launching from October 3 to October 10, 2025.

Our venue remains the same — Labangon Elementary School, and we’ll see everyone at 1:30 PM.

We believe that learning never stops, but safety always comes first. Let’s continue to keep our communities safe and uplifted as we journey together towards literacy and hope.

After a couple of months on pause, Minds on Wheels is finally back on the road! Today, we officially moved our mobile library from our Banilad HQ and settled it at Labangon Elementary School — our very first learning drive initiative in the city.

We’ve finally set up, and we couldn’t have done this without the help of our amazing volunteers who gave their time and energy to make it happen. On behalf of the entire Minds on Wheels team, thank you so much for carrying this vision with us.

We’re all geared up for our official launch this October 3rd. Excited for the journey ahead and the young minds we’ll get to serve here at Labangon!
