Our volunteer and intern recently conducted a school visit to Lapu-Lapu International College to explore opportunities for potential institutional collaboration. This meaningful engagement reflects our shared commitment to fostering academic excellence, innovation, and partnerships that create lasting opportunities for our students and communities.

We look forward to the possibilities ahead and to strengthening ties through future collaborative initiatives.

Youth Connect 2026: Discover, Volunteer, Lead

Last June 29, 2026, GIED welcomed faculty and youth leaders from different schools across Cebu for Youth Connect 2026—a day of inspiration and action for global citizenship.

From meaningful talks on international volunteer service and SDGs to energizing activities, collaborative challenges, and personal commitment pledges, our participants explored how they can make an impact both locally and globally.

Special thanks to the schools we've invited who have sent their administrators, students leaders, and representatives. We’re excited to continue the conversation on how your youth can connect with GIED’s global mobility and leadership opportunities.

Thank you also to our speakers, volunteers, interns, and everyone who made this event possible. Your effort and passion remind us why youth leadership and volunteerism matters.

This is just the beginning. Let’s continue building a community of young changemakers ready to serve and connect beyond borders.

To celebrate IVY 2026, we introduce Kathrin for our Week!

Kathrin, from Austria from our partner organization Grenzenlos - Interkultureller Austausch (ICYE Austria) arrived in Cebu with a simple hope: to work with children and learn from experiences. She has found not only a place for volunteering but also a community that welcomed her with kindness and warmth in the BP Cebu Foundation. Surrounded by Filipino colleagues and children, she found growth and a sense of belonging.

Through her time with the children, she learned not only about other people but also about herself. This journey made her want to work with children in her hometown more.

Kathrin encourages everyone to not be afraid to try, because in a place filled with support, there is always someone ready to help.

To celebrate IVY 2026, we are honored to feature Yen this Week!

As she says, “We are not that different at all.” Through volunteering, she discovered that service goes beyond borders and languages. From Cebu to different parts of Asia, her journey is a reminder that kindness and empathy are universal.

Join the World Peace Action Day!

We are sharing an invitation from our partner network NVDA for a global day of peace action on 14 August 2026 and and we are pleased to share that CCIVS, ICYE, and SCI are participating as co-organisers this year!

Over the past two years, between 44 and 67 participants from 21 to 31 countries have joined this initiative. We hope you will be part of it too!

Peace begins with each of us. Together, we can inspire hope, strengthen communities, and promote understanding across cultures.
