Tonight, the young people of DBYC Lourdes were happy to welcome Rev. Fr. William Matthews, SDB, EAO Regional Councilor, during his visit to our Youth Center.

Fr. William arrived together with our Youth Director, Rev. Fr. Keith J. Amodia, SDB, and was warmly welcomed by the young people of DBYC Lourdes. The program started with a short welcome message from our new Youth Coordinator, Kuya Jethro, who expressed our joy and gratitude for Fr. William’s visit.

The Santa Cecilia Youth Choir (SCYC) then gave a special performance of “Rosas Pandan,” bringing music and joy to everyone gathered that evening.

After the performance, our Animator, Kuya Sean, introduced the new PYCC Core Group and Animators, who will continue to help and guide our young people in the Youth Center.

Fr. William then spent time with the young people through a simple and meaningful talk. He shared his journey as a priest, some stories about the life of St. John Bosco, and the Dream at the Age of Nine, which became an important part of Don Bosco’s life and mission.

After his talk, the young people had the chance to ask questions and talk with Fr. William. It was a good opportunity for everyone to listen, learn, and share their thoughts with him.

Before the evening ended, we had a group photo with Fr. William, followed by pictures with the different groups of young people in DBYC Lourdes.

Tonight was more than just a visit. It was a chance for us to meet, listen, learn, and spend time together as one youth community.

Thank you, Fr. William, for spending time with us and for sharing your stories and experiences. Your visit reminded us that we are not alone in our journey as young people, and that there are people who continue to walk with us, guide us, and believe in us.

May we continue to grow together, serve one another, and live out the spirit of Don Bosco in our everyday lives.

September 25, 2026, | Thank God It's Friday Activity

It’s the last Friday of September, the Knights of the Altar (KOA) took the opportunity to lead this month’s TGIF Activity, focusing on the topic “Positive Self-Talk.”

For this activity, the Organizers invited one of their fellow officers, Brad Stephen Manuel Diaz, to be the speaker and share his thoughts and experiences about the importance of having positive conversations with ourselves.

Through this session, we learned how the way we talk to ourselves can affect our thoughts, confidence, emotions, and actions. The activity also reminded us that even when we face challenges, failures, or difficult situations, we should learn to encourage ourselves instead of putting ourselves down.

The activity was organized to help the youth understand how positive self-talk can help us become more confident, hopeful, and motivated to keep moving forward. Through sharing, reflection, and meaningful discussions, everyone was encouraged to turn negative thoughts into positive and helpful ones.

Sometimes, we become our own biggest critic, but we can also become our own source of encouragement. Let us learn to speak to ourselves with kindness, patience, and hope.

A big thank you to Brad Stephen Manuel Diaz for sharing his time and insights, and to the Knights of the Altar for organizing this month’s TGIF Activity.

Today, we celebrate the feast of St. Cornelius, Pope and Martyr, and St. Cyprian, Bishop and Martyr—two faithful servants of God who remained steadfast in their faith during times of persecution and difficulty.

Their lives remind us that being faithful to God is not always easy. It requires courage, humility, and the willingness to stand firm in what we believe, even when we face challenges.

As young people, may their example inspire us to be courageous in our faith, faithful in our service, and willing to stand for what is right.

May we continue to become young people who do not only believe in Christ, but also live our faith through service, love, and sacrifice.

Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian, pray for us!

Today, we honor Our Lady of Sorrows, Mary who remained faithful beside Jesus even in His moments of deepest suffering.

Her life reminds us that following God does not mean we will never experience pain or difficulties. Rather, Mary teaches us to face them with faith, courage, and trust in God.

May we learn from her to remain faithful, especially when life becomes difficult, and to always accompany one another with compassion and love.

As a youth community, may we continue to walk with Mary toward Jesus serving, growing, and becoming young people who bring hope to others.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us.

SPECIAL ROSARY | The youth of DBYC Lourdes gathered together tonight for a Special Rosary, organized by the Auxilium Sodality. This meaningful gathering was held in preparation for the upcoming Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

It was truly encouraging to see the youth of DBYC Lourdes still make time to come together in faith and fellowship tonight amidst the suspension of classes.

May this beautiful display of devotion inspire our entire community to continue seeking grace, guidance, and unity through prayer.
