I graduated as one of the Top Academic Awardee and Earthquake Response and Volunteer Service Award at Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology. I am one of those students who didn't have fancy iPads or tablets. All I had was my Android phone, a ballpen, notebooks, printed materials, and the determination to make it through.
I studied with whatever I had and made the most of every resource available to me. My review season was not easy. Behind those sleepless nights were countless doubts, tears, prayers, and questions that kept running through my mind.
After every face-to-face review, I would go straight home because I wanted to maximize my remaining time, but I still made sure to take breaks and rest.
I created a study schedule to manage my time because, for me, consistency is the key. I wanted to finish the board exam season without regrets, knowing that I had already given everything I had and surrendered the rest to God. I couldnโt afford to give up.
I had witnessed the sacrifices and hardships of my parents just to support me throughout nursing school. Their sacrifices became my motivation.
For me, failing was never an option. My goal was simple: either I would make it to the top or pass the exam. But by Godโs grace, I became a Registered Nurse.
Looking back, I realized that you donโt need to have everything to chase your dreams. Sometimes, all you need is faith in God, determination, the support of the people who believe in you, and the courage to keep going even when you feel like giving up.
I may not have had the privilege of having everything, but I had every reason to give it my all. And that was enough to get me here.
