Statement from ITF Inspectorate Cebu on the Recent Attacks on Dynacom-Managed Tankers
We strongly condemn the recent attacks on the Dynacom-managed tankers Kavomaleas, Acheloos, and Asia. These attacks put the lives of innocent seafarers at risk while they were simply doing their jobs. Seafarers should never be caught in conflicts or become victims of violence at sea.
We are thankful that all crew members were reported safe. However, these incidents remind us that many seafarers continue to face dangerous conditions while working to keep global trade moving. No one should have to fear for their life just to earn a living.
We call on shipping companies, governments, and the international community to work together to improve the safety and security of seafarers, especially in high-risk areas. Every possible step must be taken to protect civilian ships and prevent similar attacks from happening again.
No job is worth risking a human life. The safety and welfare of seafarers must always come first.
ITF Inspectorate Cebu stands with all seafarers around the world. We continue to support their rights, safety, and well-being and call for peace and respect for international maritime law.
