BATON OF HOPE: TO END POLIO NOW

One Island. One Baton. One Promise.

Rotary Clubs across Cebu are coming together for one extraordinary mission — the Baton of Hope: To End Polio Now Ride 2026.

Covering approximately 550 kilometers around Cebu Island in 10 stages, the Baton of Hope will be carried from one group of Rotarians and cyclists to another, symbolizing our shared commitment to a world free from polio.

From the southern tip of Cebu to the north and back, the baton will connect communities along the way. Every handover represents something bigger than a cycling journey — Rotary clubs working together beyond club boundaries for one common cause.

💜 Healthier Children
💛 Stronger Communities
💜 Brighter Futures
💛 A Polio-Free World

For decades, Rotary has stood at the forefront of the global effort to eradicate polio. Here in Cebu, we carry that commitment forward — together.

550 KM • 10 STAGES • ONE CEBU ISLAND
ONE BATON • ONE PROMISE

The road may be long, but no club rides alone.

🚴 Together, we ride for a Polio-Free Tomorrow.

☕✨ Fellowship brewed stronger over coffee!

Our Rotary Club of Cebu family gathered for Fellowship No. 3 with Rtn. Carlos "TIDOW" Gothong, who shared a heartfelt short talk about coffee at Island Paints Coffee Shop.

Good coffee, great company, and inspiring conversations reminded us that together, we build A Stronger Tomorrow. 💙💛

When disaster strikes, clean and safe water becomes one of the most urgent needs.

With this in mind, the Rotary Club of Cebu continues to look beyond immediate response and invest in solutions that strengthen long-term disaster preparedness.

The Club formally turned over the Water Filtration System to District 3860 Disaster Management, Inc., in a ceremony held at Big Blue Logistics, witnessed by District Governor Arlene Adlawan and members of the District leadership.

The project builds on the capability already provided by the ISO water tank units, which can transport and store water in affected communities. With the addition of the Water Filtration System, that capability is taken a step further—allowing water to be treated and helping provide drinkable water where regular supply systems may be disrupted or unavailable.

For the Rotary Club of Cebu, preparedness means thinking ahead—putting the right equipment, systems, and partnerships in place before the next emergency happens. The goal is not only to respond, but to respond better, faster, and with greater impact.
This turnover reflects that commitment: combining mobility, water storage, and filtration into a more complete disaster-response capability that can serve communities when they need it most.

The Rotary Club of Cebu is grateful to District 3860 Disaster Management, Inc., District Governor Arlene Adlawan, the District Officers, and all partners who supported this initiative.

Prepared today. Ready to serve tomorrow.

Last September 11, The Rotary Club of Cebu had the privilege of welcoming 21 Rotarians from the Daegu Hangil Rotary Club of District 3700, South Korea, together with 13 Korean children, ages 10 to 18. Their visit brought them to Mercy in Action in Talisay City, where two groups of young people, coming from different backgrounds and different countries, were given the chance to meet, interact, and simply spend time together. There were smiles, conversations, shared moments, and the quiet kind of connection that needs very little explanation.

For us, the visit was a beautiful reminder of what Rotary can make possible. Rotary is not only about projects, meetings, and programs. At its heart, it is about people reaching out to people. It is about friendship that crosses borders, compassion that needs no translation, and service that creates moments people can carry with them long after the day has ended. We were grateful to our fellow Rotarians from Daegu Hangil Rotary Club for choosing Cebu as part of this meaningful journey and for allowing us to share in an experience centered on care, fellowship, and hope.

To the children who joined them, we hope Cebu gave you memories worth keeping. And to our friends from District 3700, thank you for reminding us once again that wherever we may come from, the desire to serve and to care for others brings us closer together. This is Rotary — building friendships, opening hearts, and creating lasting impact beyond borders.

❤️ THREE LITTLE HEARTS. THREE JOURNEYS. ONE PRAYER. 🙏

This week, three little hearts are taking brave steps toward a healthier tomorrow. Each journey is different, but they all need our prayers.

🫀 ONE LITTLE HEART HAS MADE IT THROUGH SURGERY
After undergoing open-heart surgery, one of our little warriors has successfully moved from the NICU to the ward. What a beautiful milestone! We continue to pray for a smooth recovery, renewed strength, and healing each day. 🙏

🫀 ONE LITTLE HEART IS PREPARING FOR SURGERY
Another child is being admitted today for open-heart surgery. As the family prepares for this major step, we ask you to lift them up in prayer—for the doctors and medical team, for a successful operation, and for strength and peace for the family.

🫀 ONE LITTLE HEART FACES PDA DEVICE CLOSURE TOMORROW
Tomorrow, another young heart will undergo PDA device closure. Please pray that the procedure goes smoothly, that there will be no complications, and that this little heart will soon be stronger and healthier.

Three children. Three courageous families.
And countless people standing with them. ❤️

Let It Echo is honored to walk alongside these families—not only by extending support, but by reminding them that they are not alone.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, medical partners, and everyone who continues to believe in giving little hearts a chance at a healthier life.

A special thank-you to our valued partner, Rotary Club of Cebu, for helping make these journeys toward healing possible. It would not have been possible without the Gift of Life Program. Your generosity and commitment continue to create an impact that reaches far beyond the operating room.

Today, we ask for one simple but powerful gift:

🙏 PLEASE PRAY.

Pray for these three little hearts.
Pray for their families.
Pray for the surgeons, doctors, nurses, and entire medical teams.
Pray for successful procedures and complete recovery.
And pray that hope continues to echo through every family we serve.

Three little hearts. One community. One hope. One prayer.

❤️ Let It Echo.
Because every heartbeat is worth fighting for.

To lead the entire Zone in both total annual giving and per capita giving is a distinction we receive with deep gratitude and humility.

These recognitions reflect the generosity of our members and their strong belief in the mission of The Rotary Foundation—that meaningful giving, when combined with purposeful service, can create lasting change in communities here at home and across the world.

The evening also brought further recognition to the Rotary Club of Cebu through the **Zone 10A Public Image Awards**, where the Club was honored for its efforts in sharing the Rotary story and highlighting the impact of service.
