The SPCC-Cebu staff conducted an evaluation for parent beneficiaries and children under the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) at the end of the school year. This evaluation was held on May 22, 2026 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM at Alliance of Two Hearts Parish, Banawa, Cebu City.

The activity was facilitated by Ms. Emma M. Santillan, RSW, who led the session for parents, while Ms. Irish Victoria C. Ohayas, RSW conducted the evaluation for the children. A total of 16 female parent/guardians and 15 children (4 boys, 11 girls) participated in the activity.

The evaluation aimed to assess the impact of the EAP on the beneficiaries, gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. On May 10, 2026, the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu (RCAC-SGM), in partnership with Salvatorian Pastoral Care for Children, Inc (SPCC-Cebu), officially renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the presence of Most Rev. Alberto Uy, D.D., held at the Archbishop's Palace.

The MOU was jointly signed by Most Rev. Alberto Uy, D.D.; Sr. Irma Caumeran, SDS - SDS Regional Supervisor & SPCC President; Rev. Fr. Sherwin Leo Ferrater - RCAC-Safeguarding Ministry Coordinator; and Ms. Emma Santillan, RSW - SPCC-Cebu Program Director.

Ms. Emma Santillan, RSW, facilitated the session on Pertinent Laws and Child Protective Measures, with emphasis on R.A. 10627 (Anti-bullying) and online safety. On April 11, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, the Culminating Activity of the 15th Batch of the Book Reading Program (BRP) was successfully held at the Virgen De Los Remedios Parish, A. Lopez St., Labangon, Cebu City.

After completing the ten-session program, twenty-six (26) children participated in the culmination, accompanied by their parents/guardians, parish volunteers, and SPCC-Cebu staff. The children delighted everyone as they showcased their talents through various performances, bringing joy and color to the celebration.

The event also featured an Evaluation Session facilitated by SPCC-Cebu lay staff. Ms. Irish Ohayas, RSW led the Parents' Evaluation, Ms. Emma Santillan, RSW led the Facilitators/Book Readers' Evaluation, while Ms. Rea Roda facilitated the Participants' Evaluation.

The evaluation was attended by 26 BRP participants (13 boys, 13 girls), 16 parents/guardians (1 male, 15 females) and 11 facilitators/book readers (3 male, 8 female).

The meaningful gathering celebrated not only the children's achievements but also the shared commitment of families and volunteers in nurturing a love for reading.

On March 27, 2026 from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, the SPCC-Cebu team conducted simultaneous formation sessions for children beneficiary, parents and volunteers in Banawa, Cebu City.

Ms. Irish Victoria Ohayas, RSW, facilitated the continuing session on Pertinent Laws and Child Protective Measures for adults, while Sr. Hannah Monteza, SDS, led the childrenโ€™s formation on self-awarenes through the "Chain of Strength" activity.

A total of 20 adults (17 female EAP parents and 3 female RCAC-CRA volunteers) and 19 children (3 boys and 16 girls) actively participated in the activity.
