3rd Visayas TVET Conference – Plenary Session 2 Highlights

In our second plenary session, leaders in TVET shared invaluable insights on transforming education to meet future demands.

Executive Director El Cid H. Castillo discussed Curriculum Innovation for Future Skills, emphasizing Microcredentials and Lifelong Learning as key drivers for empowering learners.

Ms. Lachmi Pacio, representing TESDA Certification Office Executive Director Janet M. Abasolo, presented on Quality Beyond Compliance — focusing on building a Sustainable Quality Management System to drive continuous improvement in TVET institutions.

Dr. Gregg Victor Gabison, Product Manager and AIUN Country Manager, shed light on Digital Transformation in TVET, highlighting the role of AI, systems, data, and innovation in shaping the future of vocational education.

Together, they underscored the importance of aligning transformational leadership with quality and industry responsiveness for a stronger TVET ecosystem.

The 3rd Visyas TVET Conference-Plenary Session: TVET in Transition: Policy Directions and Workforce Priorities for the Visayas Region:

We were honored to have the Deputy Director General for Policies and Planning DDG Rosanna A. Urdaneta, deliver an insightful talk on TVET in Times of Change. The session covered the latest TESDA Policy Trends, Strategies, and Updates, helping us understand the evolving landscape of technical and vocational education and how we can align to better serve our learners and industries.

Together with Mr. Regan Rex King, President of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce (CCCI), who spoke on Industry-Driven TVET: Strengthening Employability through TVET-Industry Partnership and Work-Based Learning, and Dr. Jose Ramiro Carpio, President of CITE, who presented on Sustainable Financing Model for TVET: Innovation in Partnerships and Resource Mobilization, the conference opened avenues for impactful collaboration and innovative strategies.

Their insights are vital in strengthening the link between TVET and industry and ensuring sustainable resource mobilization for continuous growth.
