📚 SEPTEMBER | BASIC EDUCATION & LITERACY MONTH

This September, the Rotary Club of Cebu Fort San Pedro joins Rotary International in shining a light on the power of education and literacy.

Education opens doors, builds confidence, and creates opportunities for a brighter future. As Rotarians, we believe that every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream—regardless of their circumstances.

Let us continue to support learners, educators, and communities by making education more accessible and meaningful.

Because when we empower minds, we empower communities.

Together, let us Create Lasting Impact through education.

PRAY FOR OUR PEOPLE. STAND WITH OUR KABABAYANS. 🇵🇭

Our hearts are with the families and communities affected by the devastating floods across Luzon.

At this difficult time, let us come together in prayer, compassion, and action. May God protect those affected, strengthen the rescuers, comfort families, and provide hope as communities begin to recover.

For those who wish to extend a helping hand, our Donation Drive is now open. Every contribution, big or small, can bring hope, relief, and a little comfort to those in need.

🤝 Together, we hope. Together, we help. Together, we rise.

📣 ROTARY PUBLIC IMAGE: OUR VOICE. OUR IMPACT.

Every project we undertake has a story. Every Rotarian has a reason to serve. And every act of service has the power to inspire others.

As Rotarians, it is our responsibility to share our stories, celebrate our People of Action, and show the difference Rotary makes in our communities. Through meaningful communication, we can connect with more people, build trust, and inspire others to join us in service.

When we share our impact, we inspire more people to create lasting impact.

🤝 TOGETHER, WE CREATE LASTING IMPACT!

The 2nd Joint ACOM Meeting of Areas 1C and 1D last night August 28, was successfully held at City Sports Club, hosted by Rotary Club of Cebu West, bringing together Rotarians for an afternoon of fellowship, collaboration, and meaningful discussions.

During the meeting, clubs shared updates on their completed projects, highlighting the impact of our collective service in our communities. We also presented and discussed our upcoming projects and activities, ensuring that our plans remain aligned with Rotary’s commitment to meaningful and sustainable service.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments, share experiences, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration among clubs in Areas 1C and 1D.
As we continue this Rotary Year, may every project we undertake go beyond simply serving for today, may we Create Lasting Impact that will continue to benefit our communities for years to come.

We are very much grateful for the support of our Assistant Governor Lloyd Aliviado and Frederick S. Rizon.

Special thanks also to Past Assistant Governor Nestor Toledo for updating us on our contributions to the the RotaryFoundation.

Meidinliu Newmai slung an insulated vaccine carrier over her shoulder and started walking. She was 50 years old and had a goal: to reach Nenloung Atangkhullen, a village of barely 30 houses in the mountains of Manipur, India, where 17 children were waiting for their polio doses.

There was no road. No transportation. There were 28 kilometers of dense forest, steep climbs, and five rivers to cross without a bridge.

Meidinliu has worked since 2007 as an ASHA, a community health worker, at the Tamei Primary Health Centre in Tamenglong district. She knows that route because she has traveled it before. It had never been that long.

She walked for eight hours. Ten of the children were up to 3 years old. The other seven were between 3 and 5. Not a single one was left without their vaccine.

When the news reached the state capital, the Governor of Manipur himself, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, publicly recognized her work. The photo of a woman walking alone through the hills, carrying a red box, became a symbol of something that cannot be measured by a position or a salary.

There were no cameras waiting for her in the village. Only 17 children who are protected today because someone decided that no river and no mountain would decide for her who deserves a vaccine.
