In 1979 a group of young women from Cebu was inspired by JC Max Encomienda to form a Jaycee chapter in Cebu City. Prodded by an intense desire to serve the community as well as the aspiration to avail of the opportunities that the Jaycees could offer, it didn't take long for this young women to form an all lady chapter in Cebu city. Named after the Queen City of the South", Cebu Hara Jaycees was born with the word "Hara" taken after the Cebuano term for "Queen". After a series of orientations and pre-organizational meetings under the guidance of Cebu Jaycees and CHJ founder JC Max Encomienda (now a JCI Senator) and the then JCP EVP Annie de Guzman, the Cebu Hara Jaycees elected their first set of officers. Elected charter president was Nanette Edillion. JCI Cebu Hara took a pause for a few years because 80% of its members migrated abroad. But that did not stop the chapter from getting back on its feet a few years later. The chapter was later revived in 2019 headed by Charter President, Reyna Cadiz with the guidance of the Past Presidents and Senators namely: Jocelyn Go, Evelyn Tibon, Eldegarda "Dandy" Togonon-Diaz, Ethel Taneo Natera, Ma. Natividad "Nene" Treveno, Lilia Gabutin, Marietta Narcise-Arles, Ruby Catalan-Pronan, Ninfa Pedrera, Josephine Formanez, Mifelia "Mae" Villame-Cimafranca, Nelleth "Tash" Fuentes, Sheila Pesical, Marivel Ruedas-Williamson, Liza Palileo, Susan Uriarte-Valmayor, Anna Marie Taladua-Bontigao, Grace Reyes-Griffith. Even until today, there s no stopping for this organization from abiding by heart the duties that every Jaycee is bound to fulfill.
