What are the odds of taking the same journey, facing the same struggles, praying for the same breakthrough, and finally seeing your names as Licensed Civil Engineers at the exact same time?
For Josenian twin brothers Engr. Justin Julius D. Lubon, and Engr. Justin Joshua D. Lubon, it was more than just passing the Civil Engineering Licensure Examination.
It was their way of telling their parents: “Worth it tanan inyong sacrifices.”
The brothers recently passed the September 26–27, 2026 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination, turning years of studying, doubting, sacrificing, and persevering into one unforgettable family milestone.
And behind their achievement were parents who worked hard to give their children the opportunity to dream.
Their father, a Licensed Mechanical Engineer and Real Estate Agent, and their mother, a Company Manager, poured their time, effort, and sacrifices into their family.
For the twins, earning those three letters after their names was never just about the license.
“Passing the board exam is more than just a big achievement for me. It is my way of giving back to my parents. Every sacrifice they made helped me succeed.”
They know exactly what their parents gave up for them.
And now, it is their turn to make their parents happy.
Their journey, however, was far from easy.
For the first three months, they had to juggle regular classes and board exam preparation, leaving them with only three months to truly lock in and focus on the review. With only six months allotted for their entire review journey, every remaining day mattered.
There were also moments of self-doubt.
And, of course, the usual temptations of being young: sports and mobile games.
But somehow, the twins kept each other going.
Because when one struggled, there was another person walking through the same storm.
And perhaps one of the most touching parts of their story is the role played by their Ate, who put some of her own plans on hold to support the brothers and make sure they had what they needed during their review.
Now, the twins have another promise.
It is their turn to help their Ate achieve her dreams, too.
AND THEN CAME THE ANSWER TO THEIR PRAYER.
Passing the board exam alone would already be a life-changing achievement.
But passing it together with your twin brother?
That is a memory they will carry for the rest of their lives.
“It was such a nice feeling and a blessed moment to pass the board exam together with my brother. It was the proudest moment of our parents and our family.”
For the twins, it was not simply an examination result.
It was the culmination of a journey filled with sacrifices, struggles, prayers, and perseverance.
Two brothers entered the review room.
Two brothers walked out as engineers.
And somewhere behind those two new licenses are two proud parents who can finally say:
“Tanang sakripisyo, worth it.”
From being classmates, brothers, and twins who shared the pressure of the journey, Justin Julius and Justin Joshua now share something even bigger: the title of Licensed Civil Engineers.
