SET SAIL TO RYD 2026 | Diocese of Calbayog Unveils Regional Youth Days 2026 Logo

The Diocese of Calbayog - Commission on Youth formally unveiled the official logo of the Regional Youth Days (RYD) 2026 during the closing Mass of the 2nd Diocesan Youth Congress on November 23, 2025, at the Calbayog Cathedral. The ceremony was led by the Most Rev. Isabelo C. Abarquez, Bishop of Calbayog, together with Rev. Fr. Niño Vince M. Bernales, Assistant Diocesan Youth Director, and the young people of the Diocese of Calbayog.

The logo, crafted by Joed Eirol Dacuyasan, embodies four symbolic elements: the Divine Mercy Icon, the Youth, the Boat, and the Waves. Each element reflects the spirit of the gathering and will be further explained through the official page of RYD 2026.

Regional Youth Days is an encounter of young people from across Central and Eastern Visayas, comprising two archdioceses and eight dioceses. It is a celebration of God’s love for the youth, His gift to the Church, both present and future.

The last RYD was held in 2023 in the Diocese of Tagbilaran, where thousands of young pilgrims experienced the joy of creation and the call to mission. Guided by the theme “Mary arose and went with haste” (Lk 1:39), the gathering inspired many to rise and proclaim the Word of God.

Now, anticipation builds as the Diocese of Calbayog prepares spiritually, mentally, and physically to welcome delegates for RYD 2026. The event will take place on April 9–12, 2026, under the theme, “Take courage. I have overcome the world” (Jn 16:33).

As part of the preparations, the RYD Cross has already journeyed to 48 parishes and mission centers within the host diocese.

Are you ready to take courage? Come, set sail with us, mga Sangkay!

OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON THE CANCELLATION OF THE VISIT OF THE WORLD YOUTH DAY SYMBOLS IN THE CENTRAL AND EASTERN VISAYAS REGION - REGIONAL YOUTH COORDINATING COUNCIL

The Central and Eastern Visayas Region RYCC would like to announce that the visit of the World Youth Day Cross and the Icon of Our Lady, Salus Populi Romani, from June 7 in Archdiocese of Cebu and Diocese of Taliban to June 8-9 in Diocese of Tagbilaran, will not PUSH THROUGH.

We apologize for this late notice since we only received the said information early this morning from the organizers — the CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth.

We lament the said cancellation and we empathize with those who have prepared physically and spiritually for this event especially our youth and the rest of us who have missed the opportunity of being visited by the World Youth Day Icons.

Nevertheless, we will still continue working for the National Youth Day in Caceres next week. We would also like to ask a prayer for the Local Church in South Korea which is preparing for the WYD 27

Again, we apologize for the hassle. We continue to pray for those who minister to the young.

May Mama Mary and San Pedro Calungsod intercede for us.
