Grateful for the success of our 19th Annual Convention co-organized by the Philippine Association of Nutrition - Upsilon CDU chapter last Dec. 19, 2024 at Sta. Barbara Residence Hotel.

It was a night full of inspiring energy, insight, and vibrant camaraderie-foreshadowing a bright future ahead for PAN Cebu with brilliant and amazing new members from varying fields of expertise.

We have a powerful lineup of keynote speakers to talk about the relationship of our food system and the health and nutrition of the general public!

𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝗼𝗿𝗷𝗮 shares with us new findings from the Longitudinal Cohort Study on the Filipino Child, particularly regarding the 𝙉𝙪𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙪𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙡𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙄𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙋𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. She was formerly a President of PAN Cebu in 2015 and a Nutrition Research Fellow Awardee of PAN, Inc. in 2012. She is also the immediate former Director of University of San Carlos-Office of Population Studies, Inc. (USC-OPS) and currently among the Lead Investigators of the Cebu Longitudinal Cohort Study.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹 𝗖𝗹𝘆𝗱𝗲 𝗞𝗵𝗼, CEO and Founder of Arka and The Green Table, is a trailblazer in the Agritech Industry as well as a Social Enterprise Entrepreneur. He has been building Smart Farming systems to uplift the lives of farmers and create a sustainable Farm to Table supply chain.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗥𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗮𝗹, is a Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian and Science Research Specialist of DOST 7. He is also the Provincial Start-up Coordinator and DOST 7 Innovation Hub Manager for the entire province of Cebu.

𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗼, Chef Owner of Hinimu, shares with us her journey as a Whole Foods Plant-based Chef and how the market has been receiving her wholesome creations.

Food Insecurity--lack of access and/or the means to procure nutritious food--has been a persisting problem in our country. And, this is not only caused by poverty, but multiple factors that involve each link in our food system. Food insecurity is among the root causes of malnutrition. Hence, we would like to address the gaps in our food system by uniting and empowering each sector linked to this system. Together, we can make healthy food more accessible and attainable for everyone. Individually, we have a direct role and impact on our food system.

We are honored to be graced with distinguished speakers in each of their fields, giving us a concise overview of the issues being tackled. This is what PAN Cebu is about--engaging with various sectors to combat malnutrition hand in hand.
