Beyond the Basics: Where Adventure Meets Purpose

Successfully concluded! 🌿⛰️🌳

The “Beyond the Basics” Camping, Tree Planting & Mountaineering Course organized by the Rotary Club of Cebu North in partnership with Upward Trail Adventure Consultants was successfully held on August 15–16, 2026 at AO Farms.

With close to 40 participants, the two-day adventure was truly jam-packed with learning, challenges, and unforgettable experiences. From understanding essential outdoor gears and proper backpacking techniques to learning practical mountaineering skills, everyone went beyond the basics and gained knowledge that can be carried into every future adventure.

The experience went beyond training. 🌄
An early-morning yoga session with a beautiful mountain view brought calm and connection. Our tree planting activity reminded us that every adventure should also give something back to nature. And most importantly, we learned the value of “Leave No Trace”—to explore responsibly, respect the environment, and leave nature better than we found it.

But perhaps the greatest takeaway was the friendship and camaraderie built along the way. New faces became new friends, stories were shared around the camp, and people connected not only with one another, but also with nature and the great outdoors.

Beyond the basics, we discovered that adventure is not simply about reaching the summit—it is about learning, caring, connecting, and creating lasting memories along the way.

🌱 Learn. Explore. Connect. Protect.
⛰️ Beyond the Basics — Adventure with Purpose.

🏃‍♂️🥾 Rotary Club of Cebu North Supports NOMOLAS Loop Trail Run 2026

On August 9, 2026, the Rotary Club of Cebu North proudly supported the NOMOLAS Loop Trail Run, helping bring together hikers, trail runners, and outdoor enthusiasts for a meaningful and enjoyable Sunday adventure.

As part of its support, the Rotary Club of Cebu North provided trail food, communications assistance, medals, and certificates to help ensure a safe, organized, and memorable event for all participants.

More than just a trail event, the NOMOLAS Loop became a celebration of camaraderie, friendship, and unity. Hikers and trail runners shared the trails, stories, laughter, and experiences—building new friendships along the way.

Most importantly, this endeavor demonstrated that different trail and hiking groups can come together not in competition, but in solidarity and friendship. By creating one common event where everyone could participate and enjoy the outdoors together, we helped strengthen relationships and promote harmony among the various trail communities.

One trail. One community. One spirit of camaraderie.

The Rotary Club of Cebu North is proud to support activities that bring people together, promote an active lifestyle, and build stronger communities through Service Above Self.
