𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗛𝗢𝗣𝗘. 💛

Many knew Ronnie Pedoche as “Christmas Tree” around the streets of Mambaling, walking barefoot, covered in decorations, surviving through the kindness and attention of strangers.

But behind what many saw as entertainment was a painful reality. Hunger drove him to search through garbage bins for food, while dirty puddles became his source of water.

Thankfully, compassionate individuals chose not to ignore his situation and helped bring him to Safehaven Recovery Village.

After six months of care, patience, and support, Ronnie is now ready to begin a new chapter. Today, he was reunited with his mother and given another chance at life, a reminder that no one is ever too far gone to be reached by love, compassion, and hope.

At Safehaven and BAI Foundation, we continue to believe this truth with all our hearts: Nobody is beyond help. Nobody is hopeless.

Battle Against Ignorance Foundation and our 30 rescued street dweller scholars extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Filipino Chamber of Commerce-Hawaii and the Congress of Visayan Organization-Honolulu for their generous donation and support. 💛

Many of our scholars were once found wandering the streets, abandoned, hungry, and without care or shelter. Today, through God’s grace and the compassionate support of people who chose to help, they are now living in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment at Safehaven Recovery Village.

These donations are more than assistance, they are reminders that kindness can restore dignity, healing, and hope.

A special thank you to our angel, Apet Nuñez, for making this blessing possible. Your heart for helping others continues to change lives and inspire hope in many souls.

BAI Foundation proudly supports the growing movement of 𝗜𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘆 (IMG) through the successful AnchorED 1M Summit held in Legazpi City, attended by nearly 500 participants composed of educators, health officers, barangay officials, school owners, and faith leaders.

With the support of Legazpi City Mayor Hon. Hisham B. Ismail and partner advocates, the summit highlighted the urgent need for accessible mental health support and recovery coaching in communities across the country.

The mission of IMG is clear:
to help develop one million mental health recovery coaches within five years, bridging the growing gap in mental health care and support services in the Philippines.

BAI Foundation remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen recovery, mental health awareness, and community-based healing.

Long before a story goes viral, we are already on the ground. For BAI Foundation, rescuing those left behind on the streets isn't about social media trend, it is our core mission. We have a growing community of scholars in our care who prove that transformation is possible for anyone, whether they were once teachers, athletes, or simply someone who lost their way.

The Reality of the Mission
While our hearts are open, our resources are not infinite. Safehaven Recovery Village is a private, DOH-accredited facility that provides 24/7 care. To move a life from the pavement to restoration, we provide:

Professional Care: Full assessments by psychiatrists, psychologists, and DOH-accredited doctors.

Holistic Support: Dedicated social workers, nurses, and occupational therapists.

Dignity First: Shelter, nutritious meals, clothing, and even essential dental services.

Why We Need Your Help
Safehaven is a private institution and does not receive government subsidies. Between rent, medical salaries, and basic utilities, the overhead to save a life is significant. While Safehaven self-funds scholarships for those with nothing to give, we are currently limited by space and funding.
