Still blooming from an empowering Sunday run with Women’s Run PH 🌸

The Gihay Initiative would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Women’s Run PH for having us as an advocacy partner during the Cebu run. Being given the space to share our mission on menstrual equity and fighting against period poverty means so much to our team and the communities we serve.

To everyone who stopped by our booth, shared conversations with us, donated, purchased, supported, or simply took the time to learn about what we do, thank you for helping our advocacy continue to bloom. Your support reminds us that creating safe and dignified conversations around menstruation is a collective effort. 💗

And of course, a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers Joevenna De Blanc, Nicole Liarte and Sascia Gwen who dedicated their time and energy to representing Gihay with heart and care. We couldn’t have done it without you.

DECEPTIVE MARKETING

It has come to our attention that multiple online selling accounts are using audio from The Gihay Initiative’s interview with OnePH to promote their own menstrual napkin products.

We firmly clarify that The Gihay Initiative is not affiliated with any of these sellers or products. We do not sell menstrual pads. We are a non-profit organization dedicated solely to providing free pads to underprivileged communities.

Promotional clips have been edited to falsely claim that the product being sold is “researched by a non-profit organization from Cebu,” while directly copying and using the description of our pads to present them as their own.

This is misleading and a clear misrepresentation of our work.

Please report these videos and the accounts posting them to prevent further spread of misinformation.

MORE BLOOMING 4 YOU 🌺

“WE” is powerful. It reminds us that gender equality is not an individual fight. It demands collective action, from institutions, communities, allies, and women themselves, to dismantle systems that still limit opportunity, safety, and representation.

Though Gihay is resting for a while, our commitment to amplifying women’s initiatives remains firm. We honor the work of local organizers here in Cebu who continue building spaces for empowerment, wellness, creativity, resistance, and solidarity.

Four years later, we are reminded: change begins with intentional work, the kind that blooms into a catalyst for real and lasting impact. May we all have a blooming Women’s Month, grounded in gratitude, driven by action, and rooted in collective growth. 🌺✨

BLOOMING 4 YOU 🌺

As we mark 4 years of Gihay this Women’s Month 2026, we celebrate the efforts and initiatives of everywhere with this year’s themes: “WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society” and “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women.”

Though we are resting for a while, we continue to loudly give tribute to women’s strength, vision, and leadership, by honoring the initiatives of local organizers here in Cebu. We are proud of another milestone of collective growth and empowerment, kaya padayon ta og support para hayahay sa babay!

May we all have a blooming Women’s Month, filled with gratitude, inspiration, and lasting change. 🌺✨
