1. The BSP- Cebu Council will be holding the 1st Catholic Scout Camp 2026 on 21โ24 May 2026 at the University of San JoseโRecoletos, Basak Campus, Cebu City, with the theme: โHearts on Fire: Renewed and Sentโ.
2. The Catholic Scout Camp is a four-day spiritual and leadership formation initiative designed to gather Scouts from various schools and institutions in Cebu Province for a meaningful experience rooted in faith, discipline, brotherhood, outdoor learning, and service.
3. In celebration of the liturgical season leading to Pentecost, this camp aims to form young people as Spirit-filled leaders who embody the ideals of Scouting and the values of Catholic education. It seeks to promote moral integrity, peace-building, responsible citizenship, and servant leadership among the youth.
4. Specifically, the camp seeks to:
1. Deepen the spiritual formation of participants through prayer, liturgical celebrations, Marian devotion, Eucharistic encounters, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, in harmony with the Archdioceseโs ongoing preparation for the 2034 Centenary Celebration of its elevation as an Archdiocese;
2. Strengthen the practice of the Scout Oath and Law through discipline, teamwork, outdoor skills, and community life;
3. Develop leadership competencies and resilience through patrol-based activities and experiential learning;
4. Promote peace, unity, and ethical citizenship in response to current social realities; and
5. Commission Scouts to become active leaders and agents of service in their schools, parishes, and communities.
5. The program shall include, among others, the following major activities:
1. Opening Ceremonies and Camp Formation
2. Poster Making and Essay Writing Contest
3. Via Lucis Pilgrim Hike
4. Leadership and Values Formation Modules
5. Outdoor Skills and Patrol Challenges
6. Taizรฉ Prayer
7. Praise and Worship Night
8. Grand Campfire
9. Eucharistic Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
10. Renewal of Scout Promise
11. Pentecost Closing Celebration
12. Awarding and Commissioning Ceremony
6. Participants. This activity is open to registered members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, particularly:
1. Boy Scouts
2. Senior Scouts
3. Rover Scouts
4. Adult Leaders and Unit Advisers
7. Participation Ratio. Aligned with WOSMโs and BSPโs participation ratio standard, a 1:9 (1 adult leader for every nine scouts) is to be strictly followed.
8. Registration Fee. A registration fee of Php 1,000.00 shall be charged per participant to cover program materials, camp operations, event patch, identification materials, certificates, and other administrative expenses.
9. Registration Details. Interested schools and units shall submit their official list of participants through their respective districts / coordinating offices on or before May 16, 2026 (2200H). Additional guidelines on payment procedures, documentary requirements, and participant endorsements shall be issued separately.
10. Requirements. Participants are expected to:
1. Be officially registered members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines;
2. Be physically fit and capable of participating in camp activities;
3. Submit duly signed parent/guardian consent and medical waiver forms (for minors);
4. Bring prescribed uniforms, camping gear, and personal necessities; and
5. Observe camp rules, discipline, and standards of conduct at all times.
11. Contingent Leadership. Adult leaders accompanying participants shall exercise proper supervision and shall ensure the safety, discipline, and welfare of their respective contingents throughout the duration of the camp.
12. Travel Itinerary. All Camp Contingents are advised to submit their Camp Itinerary upon registration for record and reference purposes. Furthermore, all PARTICIPANTS are advised to report at the USJ-R Basak Campus not later than 1300H on 21 May 2026, Thursday, and will only be cleared to leave the camp after the Grand Closing Ceremonies on 1200H โ 24 May 2026.
13. Scout Camps. In consideration of rising costs and in the spirit of sustainability, the construction of full camp structures for this event is encouraged but not mandatory. Participating contingents shall only be required to establish a perimeter fence and a designated altar area. A simple camp gate reflecting unit or institutional identity is likewise encouraged; however, the organizers seek to minimize additional financial burden on participants and therefore will not require elaborate camp constructions.
14. Food Provision. The Contingent of each school must provide for their own food and other basic requirements that will be sufficient throughout the entire duration of the Jamboree. Each contingent manages their respective kitchens, mess, and commissaries. The school canteen will be open in the duration of the camp from 5:30 AM โ 10:00 PM and the organizers shall ensure that products are reasonably priced.
15. All districts, schools, and institutions are encouraged to ensure maximum participation in this historic and first-of-its-kind Catholic Scouting gathering in Cebu.
