On National Heroes Day, we honor the Filipinos whose courage, sacrifices, and love for the country helped shape the nation we know today.

Their stories remind us that heroism lives in many forms and that their legacy continues through every generation that chooses to serve, stand for what is right, and work toward a better Philippines.

Mabuhay ang mga bayani ng Pilipinas! May their courage and legacy continue to inspire every Filipino. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

Today, August 28, 2026, the NU Cebu SHS Supreme Student Council (SHS SSC) had the privilege of participating in the Youth Summit 2026, held at the Cebu Provincial Capitol Social Hall, through the invitation of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. (RAFI).

The summit brought together young leaders and advocates from different backgrounds across Cebu Province, united by a common goal: to empower the youth and inspire meaningful change in our communities.

We were honored to learn from our distinguished guest speakers:
-Hon. Jefson Romeo B. Felix
-Mr. Edren M. Llanillo
-Ms. Rhenelyn Queen P. Dadulo
-Mr. Ramon Matthew R. Basabe

The event welcomed various youth sectors, including student leaders, SK and youth governance representatives, youth organization leaders and members, youth-led and youth-serving organizations, clubs and community groups, youth advocates, community leaders, and other youth sectors.

As student leaders, we are reminded that our voices, ideas, and actions have the power to create positive change. May we continue to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and work together toward a better future.

Different contexts, one shared purpose. Together, let us lead the change!

And just like that, itโ€™s been a month already!

For sure, the past few weeks have been filled with new memories, lots of laughter, unexpected friendships, and people we never thought would become close to our hearts.

From getting lost around campus to figuring out new schedules, meeting new faces, surviving the first few weeks, and slowly finding our place in NU Cebu, every day has brought something new to remember.

But enough about us, we wanted to hear it straight from our NUbies! ๐ŸŽค
