Agosto 11 | Kapistahan ni STA CLARA DE ASISI, Birhen ug Magtutukod sa Order of Poor Clares

Karong adlawa, atong gisaulog ang Kapistahan ni Santa Clara de Asisi, usa ka balaan nga babaye nga mitugyan sa iyang kinabuhi kang Kristo pinaagi sa pag-ampo, kapobrehon, ug hingpit nga pagsalig sa Diyos.

Si Santa Clara natawo sa Assisi, Italy, niadtong 1194. Sa iyang pagkabatan-on, nadani siya sa ehemplo ni San Francisco de Asisi, nga nahimong iyang espirituwal nga giya ug suod nga kauban sa pagsunod kang Kristo.

Si Santa Clara ug San Francisco pareho nga gitawag sa Ginoo ngadto sa usa ka kinabuhi sa kapobrehon, pagpaubos, pag-ampo, ug pagsunod sa Ebanghelyo.

Sa tabang ni San Francisco, gitukod ni Santa Clara ang usa ka komunidad sa mga babaye nga nagpuyo sa espiritu sa Franciscan poverty ug pagsunod kang Kristo. Kini nahimong Order of Poor Ladies, nga nailhan karon isip Poor Clares.

Agosto 10 | Kapistahan ni SAN LORENZO, diakono ug martir

Karong adlawa, gisaulog sa Simbahan ang Kapistahan ni San Lorenzo , Diakono ug Martir, usa sa mga bantugang martir sa unang Simbahan sa Roma.

Si San Lorenzo usa sa pito ka mga diakono sa Simbahan sa Roma ubos ni Santo Papa Sixto II. Ang iyang katungdanan mao ang pagtabang sa Santo Papa sa pagdumala sa mga kabtangan sa Simbahan ug, labi na, sa pag-atiman sa mga kabus ug nanginahanglan.

Niadtong panahon sa pagpanggukod sa mga Kristiyano, gipangayo sa mga awtoridad kang Lorenzo ang mga bahandi sa Simbahan. Apan imbis nga ipakita ang bulawan ug ubang materyal nga kabtangan, iyang gipakita ang mga kabus, masakiton, ug nanginahanglan, nga iyang giila isip tinuod nga bahandi sa Simbahan.

Tungod sa iyang pagtuo ug pagkamatinud-anon kang Kristo, gipatay si San Lorenzo isip martir niadtong Agosto 10, 258 sa panahon sa pagpanggukod sa mga Kristiyano ubos ni Emperador Valerian.

Agosto 8 | Kapistahan ni SANTO DOMINGGO DE GUZMAN
Pari ug Magtutukod sa Order of Preachers

Karong adlawa, gisaulog sa Simbahan ang Kapistahan ni Santo Dominggo de Guzmán, usa ka pari nga naghalad sa iyang kinabuhi sa pagwali sa Ebanghelyo ug pagtabang sa mga tawo nga mas maila ug mas maduol kang Kristo.

Si Santo Dominggo natawo sa Caleruega, Espanya, mga tuig 1170. Sukad sa iyang pagkabatan-on, nailhan siya tungod sa iyang lawom nga pagtuo, gugma sa pagtuon, pag-ampo, ug kalooy alang sa mga kabus.

Human siya mahimong pari, iyang gigahin ang iyang kinabuhi sa pagwali, pagtudlo sa kamatuoran sa pagtuo, ug paggiya sa mga tawo ngadto sa Diyos. Nakita niya ang dakong panginahanglan alang sa mga magwawali nga maalamon, matinud-anon, ug lig-on sa ilang pagtuo. 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟔 | 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝

Today, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, commemorating the moment when Jesus revealed His divine glory before His disciples.

According to the Gospel, Jesus took Peter, James, and John up a high mountain to pray. While He was praying, His appearance was transformed—His face shone like the sun, and His garments became dazzling white.

At that moment, Moses and Elijah appeared and spoke with Jesus. Moses represented the Law, while Elijah represented the Prophets, showing that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s plan of salvation revealed throughout the Old Testament.

As Peter was speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and they heard the voice of God the Father saying:

“This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” (Matthew 17:5)

The disciples fell to the ground in awe, but Jesus came to them, touched them, and said, “Rise, and do not be afraid.” When they looked up, they saw Jesus alone.

The Transfiguration strengthened the faith of the Apostles before Christ’s Passion and reminded them that beyond the Cross awaits the glory of the Resurrection. It also reminds us that through prayer, faith, and obedience to God’s will, we are called to be transformed into the likeness of Christ.

May the light of the Transfigured Christ shine upon our hearts, strengthen our faith, and guide us to eternal glory.
