More than just a training, our learning spaces have become opportunities for growth, reflection, and renewal. 💙

As school personnel, our participants dedicate so much of themselves to supporting, guiding, and caring for their students. This training provided a space not only to strengthen their knowledge and skills, but also to connect with fellow educators, share experiences, and be reminded that their own well-being matters too.

We believe that training should go beyond lectures and traditional learning sessions. Rather than conducting training the usual way, we intentionally create spaces that promote wellness through self-care activities, fellowship, and opportunities to pause from their everyday work. By integrating well-being into the learning experience, participants are reminded that caring for themselves is just as important as caring for those they serve.

As participants return to their respective schools and communities, they do so with fresh perspectives, meaningful connections, and a renewed commitment to fostering safe and supportive environments for the children and young people they serve.

Because those who dedicate themselves to caring for others also deserve the time and space to rest, recharge, and be cared for.

Day 2 of Project TROPA Teachers’ Training ✨

Learning by doing!

On Day 2, teachers from our partner schools participated in simulation activities, practicing how they will facilitate and implement Project TROPA in their own classrooms. Through role-playing and module walkthroughs, participants gained hands-on experience in delivering lessons that promote respect, online safety, empathy, and child protection.

A highlight of the day was the exchange of ideas between teachers and the World Hope International Philippines team. Participants shared valuable feedback and recommendations to help further strengthen the adapted TROPA modules, ensuring they remain relevant, engaging, and responsive to the needs of Filipino adolescents.

Together, we're building a stronger program that equips educators and trusted adults to help young people make safe, respectful, and informed choices both online and offline. ❤️🌱

Day 1 of Project TROPA: Tamang Respeto sa Online at Personal na Aksyon Partnership Launch & Teachers’ Training

We are excited to share that yesterday marked the first day of the Project TROPA: Tamang Respeto sa Online at Personal na Aksyon Partnership Launch and Teachers’ Training.

The event was spearheaded by our dedicated Social Workers from Regions III and IV-A and brought together school leaders, teachers, and child advocates from Rosauro R. Tangson Sr. National High School and Centro de Naic National High School. Their active participation and commitment contributed greatly to the successful launch of this initiative.

As the training commenced, participants engaged in meaningful discussions on child protection and adolescent well-being, with teachers sharing firsthand experiences of supporting children who seek guidance and help. These conversations highlighted the vital role of educators as trusted adults and reinforced the importance of equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to recognize, respond to, and address child protection concerns while fostering safe learning environments for children both inside and outside the classroom.

Through Project TROPA, we aim to strengthen the capacity of teachers and other trusted adults to guide adolescents in making responsible decisions, practicing respect, identifying safe and unsafe situations, and protecting themselves from risks in both online and offline spaces.

At World Hope International Philippines, we believe that strengthening child protection also means equipping trusted adults, especially teachers, with the right knowledge and skills to help keep children safe. By equipping teachers with practical tools and relevant knowledge, we can help foster safer environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.

We are deeply grateful for this meaningful partnership with Rosauro R. Tangson Sr. National High School, Centro de Naic National High School, CPCTSA, and Johns Hopkins University. This milestone would not have been possible without the collective dedication, expertise, time, and resources generously shared by all partners and participants.

Together, we are taking an important step toward building safer communities and empowering young people for a safer future.

Two days of learning, reflection, and collaboration, officially completed. A successful close to the Healing Home: Psychosocial Intervention for Families Training. 💛

Throughout the training, participants shared insights, reflected on their experiences, and explored practical ways to strengthen family relationships, improve communication, and support healing within the home.

As this two-day training concludes, we celebrate not only the knowledge gained and meaningful conversations shared, but also the collective commitment of everyone involved to creating safer, more supportive environments for children and families.

While the training has come to an end, the journey continues. We look forward to seeing these learnings translated into action, helping strengthen families and promote the well-being of children and communities. 🌱

Day 1 of the Healing Home: Psychosocial Intervention for Families Training is officially done! 💛

Today marked the start of an important learning journey focused on strengthening families and supporting healing within the home.

Spearheaded by WHI Social Workers, together with our consultants, the session introduced participants to Family Therapy using a module developed by World Hope International- Philippines.

Through discussions on Family Therapy, participants explored how families can play a key role in the healing process of OSAEC survivors. By creating safe spaces for family members to share their thoughts and emotions, listen to one another, and understand different perspectives, families are better equipped to work through challenges together and build stronger relationships. 🤝

Healing takes support, understanding, and connection. Every conversation that encourages empathy, strengthens relationships, and promotes healthy communication helps create a more supportive environment for children and families.

As we close out Day 1, we look forward to another day of learning, reflection, and collaboration as we continue strengthening our capacity to support children and families in need. 💛

💛 Walking Alongside Survivors: A Story of Hope and Healing

For five years, Meg Cabanacan has been serving as a social worker with World Hope International (WHI-Philippines), working alongside children and survivors of abuse and exploitation.

For Meg, social work is more than providing services. It is about being present, listening, and walking with survivors through difficult moments. Her work has taught her the importance of patience, humility, and simply being there when someone needs support.

Even when it means traveling for hours to reach families in remote communities, Meg continues to show up. Because for every survivor, having someone walk alongside them can make a difference. 💛

Healing takes time. Hope grows through consistent care. And sometimes, hope begins with simply knowing that someone is there.

The Scale of People's Reliance: Philippines Validation Workshop 🔎 🤝📊💡

WHI Social Worker, Ms. Chelsea Taasin participated in The Scale of People's Reliance: Philippines Validation Workshop held at Radisson Blu, Cebu City, organized by the International Justice Mission (IJM). The one-day workshop brought together representatives from various civil society organizations (CSOs) and government agencies to contribute to an important ongoing research initiative.

The workshop served as a platform to review and validate the research tool, while gathering valuable insights on its application within the Philippine context. Through active discussions and collaboration, participating organizations shared their experiences and perspectives, helping enhance the relevance, effectiveness, and impact of the research.

WHI Philippines remains committed to fostering meaningful partnerships and collaborative efforts that strengthen protection systems and promote the well-being of children, families, and communities.

Together, we continue to build safer and more resilient communities through research, collaboration, and shared advocacy. 💙
