Hereโs what heโs into last week. ๐
โWe distributed 21 sets of school bags, school supplies, and slippers to the Grade 1, Grade 2, and Kindergarten children of the Mamanwa Tribe in Sitio Palayan, Brgy. Caucab, Biliran Island.
Two years ago, during my first climb to Tres Marias, I told myself that one day I would organize a donation drive for the Mamanwa children. A year later, I pitched the idea to some friends and organizations, but no one was interested in pursuing it. So I decided to move forward on my own.
For the past six months, Iโve been organizing hikes to raise funds for this project. It wasnโt much at first, but it was enough to bring smiles to these children. Along the way, generous cash donations from fellow hikers made the transportation, logistics, and additional school supplies possible.
Every uncertain moment was worth it. There were times I didnโt even know if this project would be possible, but I learned that people who share the same passion and purpose eventually find one another. If no one believes in your idea, donโt let that stop you. Take the first step, start the initiative, and trust that the right people will join you along the way.
