Passing to the Degree of Fellow Craft

A significant day at Cavite Lodge No. 2 as Brothers Noel Lubrica, Abelardo Navarro, and Ronald Ramos were passed to the Degree of Fellow Craft Mason.

The degree conferral led by the Worshipful Master Genito Basilio marks another important step in their Masonic journey—from the lessons of the Entered Apprentice toward greater knowledge, responsibility, and service.

May the teachings of the Fellow Craft deepen their understanding of the Craft, strengthen their commitment to brotherhood, and inspire them to continue building lives founded upon wisdom, strength, and virtue.

A TOKEN OF BROTHERHOOD, ROOTED IN FILIPINO HERITAGE

A proud moment of fraternal fellowship as Worshipful Master Genito Basilio of Cavite Lodge No. 2 presented his personally designed token to the newly installed Master of Lodge Lane Xang No. 1632 under the Grand Lodge of Scotland, Right Worshipful Argie Say-ao Baltaken.

Unlike the customary military tokens framed by medieval European war shields, WM Basilio deliberately chose the Filipino native war shield as its frame—a symbol drawn from our own indigenous heritage, evoking courage, protection, and the warrior spirit of our ancestors.

At its center is the “lingling-o,” a traditional pendant or amulet associated with the indigenous peoples of Northern Philippines where WM Basilio was born and raised. Beyond its distinctive form, it carries a deeper symbolism of protection, balance, and interconnectedness—values that beautifully resonate with the bonds of Masonic brotherhood.

This token is therefore more than a memento of an installation. It is a small piece of Filipino identity carried into the wider fraternity of Freemasonry, offered as a reminder that while our Masonic journey is universal, each Brother may bring with him the heritage, culture, and traditions of his own people.

From the Philippines to Thailand, from one Brother to another—may the bond of Brotherhood remain strong, balanced, and enduring.

The brethren of Cavite Lodge No. 2 led by the Worshipful Master 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐨, had the distinct honor and pleasure of paying a fraternal visit to 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐞 𝐗𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟔𝟑𝟐 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The occasion was made even more significant by the installation of Right Worshipful Master 𝐀𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐲-𝐚𝐨 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐧, who made Masonic history as the 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙤𝙙𝙜𝙚 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝙓𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙉𝙤. 1632. His installation stands as a proud testament to the enduring bonds of Filipino and international Freemasonry, demonstrating that the principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth transcend nationality, borders, and jurisdictions.

For the Filipino brethren, witnessing a fellow Filipino ascend to the Oriental Chair of a Scottish Lodge in Thailand was a moment of particular pride—not only a personal achievement for RW Bro. Baltaken, but also a beautiful symbol of the growing fellowship and mutual respect among Masons across the world.

Fraternal visitation is among the cherished annual activities of Cavite Lodge No. 2. It provides our Brethren with the opportunity to travel beyond our jurisdiction, visit sister Lodges, and strengthen the bonds of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.

This visit to Lodge Lane Xang No. 1632 was a meaningful occasion of fellowship and Masonic unity, demonstrating that the bonds of Brotherhood transcend borders, cultures, and distance.

Through these fraternal exchanges, we continue to promote mutual respect, friendship, and the enduring principles upon which our Craft is founded.

From Cavite to Bangkok, the spirit of Brotherhood remains strong.

Sa pagdaraos ng Pirmihang Takdang Pagpupulong ng Lohiyang Cavite Bilang Dalawa ngayong ikapito ng Agosto, sa ilalim ng hurisdiksiyon ng Pinakamarangal na Dakilang Lohiya ng Pilipinas, buong paggalang naming isinagawa ang pagbubukas, pagpapatakbo ng pagpupulong, at pagsasara ng Lohiya sa wikang Filipino, bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika.

Sa pamumuno ng aming Marangal na G**o (Worshipful Master) Genito B. Basilio, ipinamalas na ang wikang Filipino ay hindi lamang kasangkapan sa pakikipagtalastasan, kundi isang makapangyarihang daluyan ng ating mga aral, tradisyon, pagkakapatiran, at pagmamahal sa bayan.

Sa bawat katagang binigkas sa ating sariling wika, lalo nating pinagtibay ang diwa ng Masoneriya—Pag-ibig-Kapatid, Pagsaklolo, at Katotohanan—habang pinahahalagahan ang ating pambansang pagkakakilanlan.

A Final Tribute to a Worthy Brother

With solemnity and fraternal reverence, the Brethren of Cavite Lodge No. 2, F. & A.M. rendered the Masonic Necrological Service in honor of our departed Brother, Former Governor Vicente Gato of Batanes on July 23, 2026, as we bade farewell to him who has laid aside his working tools, having faithfully completed his earthly labor on July 14, 2026.

As Masons, we are reminded that while the hands that once wielded the working tools now rest, the virtues he built—of service, integrity, brotherhood, and compassion—remain as enduring monuments to his life.

Brother Vicente exemplified the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, both in his Masonic journey and in his service to the people. Though he has been called from labor to refreshment, his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

May the Great Architect of the Universe receive him into His eternal care and grant him everlasting peace and light. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with the Gato family during this time of sorrow.

First Iteration Successfully Completed!

With grateful hearts, we celebrate the successful completion of the Second Iteration of the “𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞” Project of the Atengs of Cavite Lodge No. 2 under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of the Philippines last 30 July 2026.

Our sincere appreciation goes to everyone who donated, purchased, volunteered, and supported this meaningful initiative. Every pre-loved item shared and every peso raised brings us one step closer to providing school uniforms for less fortunate elementary pupils in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya.

This project continues to prove that when hearts unite in service, simple acts of generosity create a lasting impact in the lives of others.

Small Coins, Great Compassion. 🪙❤️

What began as coins carefully saved in a coin bank has become a meaningful gift of ₱5,008, generously donated by Anika Llamado, the granddaughter of Brother Junior Warden Guilbert Llamado in support of the Decluttering: Pre-Loved Items for a Cause project.

This thoughtful act reminds us that generosity is measured not by the size of the gift, but by the kindness and love behind it. Every peso will help provide school uniforms for less fortunate elementary pupils in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, giving them greater confidence as they pursue their education.

My Dear Brethren, Families, and Friends,

As we observe the World Day for Grandparents today, July 26, 2026, I extend my warmest greetings to all grandparents, whose lives stand as enduring monuments of love, wisdom, and selfless devotion to family and community.

As a grandfather myself, I have been profoundly blessed to experience the unique joy of seeing the next generation grow in character, faith, and purpose. Grandchildren remind us that the values we faithfully cultivate today become the legacy we leave for tomorrow.

Freemasonry teaches us to build not only temples made with hands but, more importantly, lives founded upon the enduring virtues of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. Grandparents embody these timeless principles through their patience, compassion, gentle counsel, and steadfast example. They are among the finest builders of character, quietly shaping future generations with the working tools of kindness, integrity, and unconditional love.

To our Brethren who have been blessed with grandchildren, may you continue to inspire them by your example and guide them with wisdom. To our younger Brethren and families, cherish the priceless gift of your grandparents while they are with you. Their counsel is a treasure, their prayers a source of strength, and their love a reflection of the Great Architect’s abundant blessings.

Let this day also be a time to remember with gratitude those grandparents who have laid down their working tools and have been called to the Celestial Lodge Above. Though absent from our sight, the lessons they imparted and the virtues they exemplified continue to illuminate our path.
