In 2014, the International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR) initiated this project with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) - CALABARZON. This program aims for a wide-scale provision of holistic nutrition services to children 3 to 5 years old by utilizing child development centers as local platforms for delivering complementary nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive

interventions. The project, in collaboration with the DSWD and local government units, provides complementary attention to environmental health, water, sanitation, and hygiene or WASH, food education, food safety, climate resilience, and agro-biodiversity conservation on top of the usual DSWD elements of supplementary feeding and nutrition education.
