Even in times of armed conflict, humanity must never be forgotten.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is a set of rules that seeks to limit the effects of war by protecting those who are not, or are no longer, taking part in hostilities, while placing limits on the methods and means of warfare. It reminds us that dignity, compassion, and respect for human life must always prevail, even in the most difficult circumstances.

This August, let us deepen our understanding of IHL and recognize that protecting humanity is a shared responsibility. Through awareness, education, and advocacy, we help promote a culture of respect for human dignity and the principles that safeguard lives.
