A Kidney Awareness Month Program was held on March 24, 2026 at Cauayan South Central School. This is a collaborative project of the Rotary Club of Cauayan, coordinated by RC Cauayan Secretary Eric Cacabelos with Cauayan District Hospital and CSCS-SELG.

With the theme "Kidney Health for All: Caring for people, Protecting the Planet", the program aims to put focus on protecting the kidney through education and early screening.

Nephrologist Dr. Richter Orpilla, gave a lecture on Kidney functions, its importance and caring for it. He also talked of Chronic Kidney Disease and its symptoms and prevention.

Attended by Grade 6 students, led by SELG President Gian Cacabelos, Faculty of Cauayan South Central School led by OIC Noimi Tattao and RC Cauayan members and spouse led by President Sherlon Gonzales, the lecture was well received.

Part of the program were free check on CBC, creatinine, BP and Blood Chem by Medical Personnel of Hemodialysis Center-Cauayan District Hospital.

Rotary Club of Cauayan joined the District 3770 Sportsfest on March 21, 2026 held at Guiguinto Municipal Oval, Guiguinto Bulacan.

The District Sportsfest is a major fellowship event aimed at fostering camaraderie, teamwork, and healthy lifestyle choices among Rotarians throughout the District. This year's was graciously hosted by the Rotary Club of Guiguinto Bloomingdales.

Amongst the games played were the popular Pickleball, Basketball and Volleyball. Also, much interest were in the Filipino most loved childhood games: sungka, sipa, jackstone, chess, dama and domino.

Led by SDDG Lani Alivia and President Sherlon Gonzales, RC Cauayan members had a blast playing and interacting with fellow Rotarians. It was indeed fellowship, camaraderie, and sportsmanship in action!

The new officers of the Rotaract Club of Cauayan were inducted on January 20, 2026 at the Rotary Club of Cauayan Clubhouse. Rotary Club President Sherlon Gonzales, PP Danny Alivia, PP Raymond Tan and other officers and members conducted and witnessed the installation.

The new Rotaract Club of Cauayan Officers are as follows:
President- Joshua Ortaliza
Vice-President- Master Hero Galdonez
Secretary- Princess Ibarra
Treasurer- Leanna Sorriben
Auditor- Zshandie Eder

A Rotaract Club is a Rotary-sponsored organization of ages 18 & above young adults that take action in their communities and internationally to develop their leadership and professional skills.

The officers and members of the Rotaract Club of Cauayan are likewise beneficiaries of the 5-year Scholarship Program, a joint project of the Rotary Club of Cauayan and Rotary Club of Canterbury, Australia.

A Pre-Midyear Review was conducted prior to the actual Midyear Review in Zone 1, Area 1-3, composed of 16 clubs;
Area 1 by Assistant Governor Jun Chua, Area 2 by Assistant Governor Michael De Guzman, Sr. and Area 3 by Assistant Governor Resie Ponce.

Each Club President presented the club's achievements and activities.

It was attended by District Governor Alexander Santos, Executive Secretary Veo Valenzuela and other District Officers. The Pre-Midyear was hosted thru the leadership of Senior Deputy District Governor and RC Cauayan Past President Lani Alivia on Jan. 3,2026 at the Rotary Club of Cauayan Clubhouse.

Rotary Club of Cauayan President Sherlon Gonzales, President-Elect Nelson Tan, other officers and members attended the District 3770 Midyear Review 2026 held at Sen. Edgardo J. Angara Convention Center, Baler, Aurora.

Assistant Governor and RC Cauayan Past President Michael De Guzman, Sr. ably and efficiently reported on the projects and achievements of Zone 1, Area 2 Clubs.

Turnover of WASH to Marabulig Elementary School

Another WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) project was Inaugurated and turned over to Marabulig Elementary School in Cauayan City by the Rotary Club of Cauayan on January 10, 2026.

This WASH is a joint project of Rotary District 3770 Zone 1: Area 2 clubs ( Rotary club of Cauayan, Rotary club of Ilagan, Rotary club of Alicia Pagay, Rotary club of Metro Cauayan, Rotary club of San Mateo Balatong & Rotary club of Roxas) thru the initiative of Assistant Governor Michael T. De Guzman, Sr.

The WASH facility will encourage the good hygiene practice of frequent hand washing of 709 Marabulig Elementary School students , preventing the spread of infectious diseases and resulting to improved overall health of the learners.

Turnover of WASH to Cauayan National High School-Marabulig Extension

Hand washing saves lives. The simple act of washing hands reduces diarrheal diseases by 30% and respiratory diseases by 20%.

As instilling proper hygiene practices is one of the signature projects of the Rotary Club of Cauayan, it turned over a Hand Washing Station to Cauayan City National High School- Marabulig Extension on January 10, 2026

This project was realized thru the District Grant from Rotary District 3770 under the leadership of District Governor Alexander Santos and the Rotary Club of Cauayan.

Christmas is truly a season of
joy that is not only fun for the young but more so for the young at heart.

The Rotary Club of Cauayan joined the Christmas Celebration of the Seniors of Cabatuan on Dec. 16, 2025 at the Cabatuan Community Hall.

In partnership with the LGU of Cabatuan and fellow Rotarian Mayor Charlton Uy, RC Cauayan brought in appliances, wheelchairs and cash raffle prizes. Also given were noodles and juice packs.

1500 seniors of Cabatuan enjoyed the annual community activity. They gamely danced, laughed and joyfully received their gifts.

The Rotary Club of Cauayan celebrated its yearly Christmas Party on December 9, 2025 thru a Thanksgiving Fellowship at the Rotary Club of Cauayan Clubhouse. Apart from the merry-making and revelry, it was a time for reflection to count our blessings, express our thanksgiving and to offer prayers of gratitude for both joys and challenges that came along.

The members and spouses with some family members, PYCS Interact Club and RCC San Francisco officers feasted on a sumptuous dinner and laughters lingered as everyone enjoyed the games, singing and dancing.

“The only real blind person at Christmas-time is he who has not Christmas in his heart." - Helen Keller

True Christmas blessing was felt by RC Cauayan members, spouses and family, led by President Sherlon Gonzales, as they visited the Isabela School for the Blind for its annual gift-giving on December 9, 2025.

The 28 visually and hearing-impaired students were the recipients of gifts, grocery bags, rice, sweets and snacks. 13 school Faculty and support staff also received gifts, grocery packs and rice.

The students' sweet gratitude was expressed through their joyful songs and dances which touched the hearts of the Rotarians and spouses. As Past President Ton Pua said in his remarks, " Kayo ang nagpasaya sa amin, sa aming pagpunta".

After the program, the students and RC members shared a Jollibee meal, Potato Corner fries, street food, noodles, peanuts and native cakes.

Hearts filled with joy, love, generosity and gratitude, there were no blind in their hearts that morning, only Christmas in their hearts.

The Gift-giving at Isabela School of the Blind is a yearly tradition and part of the Charter Anniversary celebration of the Rotary Club of Cauayan.
