The Statistics Society proudly participated in the Leadership Symposium and Technical Writing Workshop held on August 18, 2026, at the 3rd Floor Convention Center.
The event brought together municipal and society officers from various programs under the College of Arts and SciencesโInformation Systems, Psychology, Information Technology, and Statisticsโfor a day of learning, leadership development, and skills enhancement.
The program commenced with opening remarks delivered by Ms. Sweet Mercy F. Pacolor, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, followed by the acknowledgment of student organizations led by Governor Joshua A. Ibajo.
The Leadership Symposium, facilitated by Christine O. Calley, RN, provided student leaders with valuable insights and practical lessons on effective leadership, responsibility, teamwork, and service. Meanwhile, the Technical Writing Workshop, facilitated by Vice Governor Ben Richard D. Gabatbat, equipped participants with essential skills for preparing clear, organized, and professional technical documents.
For the Statistics Society, the activity provided an opportunity for its officers and representatives to strengthen their leadership and communication skillsโboth of which are essential for effectively serving the Statistics community. As future statisticians and student leaders, we look forward to continuing to learn, lead, and put our skills into meaningful service.
Lead. Learn. Serve. Statistically. ๐๐
