๐๐๐๐||UEP Concludes NSTP Common Module with NICA-8 Security Briefing

Catarman, Northern Samar โ The University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) Main Campus National Service Training Program (NSTP), comprising the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) and Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), successfully concluded the final day of its common module phase at the UEP Amphitheatre on ๐๐๐ญ๐จ๐๐๐ซ ๐, ๐๐๐๐.
The joint training program, supervised by NSTP Director ๐๐ซ๐จ๐. ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐ฒ ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐จ, featured a comprehensive national security briefing delivered by personnel from National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) Region 8.
The students were educated on the critical dimensions of contemporary national security, including peace, economy, culture, environment, and cyberspace. A significant portion of the lecture focused on identifying the tactics and patterns behind violent extremist grooming and Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) recruitment targeting the youth.
Warning the assembly against the propagation of misinformation and online disinformation, the Guest lecturer maintained a firm stance against terrorism. Following the lecture, ROTC cadets relocated to the UEP Grandstand for a proper orientation. Assistant Commandant ๐๐๐ฃ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ข๐ฅ ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐๐ณ welcomed the new cadets and highlighted the vital role of institutional discipline during his opening remarks. The program also served as a formal introduction for the unit's training staff, who provided foundational insights and guidance to the incoming trainees.
In his concluding address, ROTC Commandant ๐๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ง๐ญ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐๐ฅ ๐๐๐ฌ๐จ๐ง ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐๐ง outlined the core objectives and mission of the program. He reiterated that the fundamental purpose of the ROTC is to provide structured military education and training, ensuring students are effectively mobilized and prepared for national defense and civic responsiveness.
