The University Student Council (USC) represented by USC Vice President for External Affairs, Feil Chris A. Madayag, USC Treasurer, Dennis V. Luciano actively participated in Youth Connect 2026 organized by the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO), held from March 28 to 30, at Villa Cruz Nature Resort, San Roque Northern Samar.
The gathering brought together Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation members and various youth organizations from across the province. The program focused on equipping young leaders with diverse leadership styles and enhancing their governance capabilities. Discussions included Leadership Reflection and Sustaining Youth Initiatives, Youth Programs Reporting and Monitoring Tools for Effective Implementation, Meaningful Youth Participation , and Building Partnerships and Mobilizing Resources for Sustainable Youth Engagement.
These initiatives emphasized key leadership values such as accountability, transparency, passion, and humility, all aimed at shaping the future leaders of Northern Samar. Participants were also introduced to the Learning to Earning Pathway (LEaP) and the Saktong Leader (LEaP) Sakto Skills Serye, programs designed to further develop leadership skills and practical competencies.
Moreover, the Provincial Youth Development Council conducted elections among registered youth organizations, where USC-Main was elected as Chairperson of Governance Committee. This position enables the council to take a more active role in decision-making processes and in leading youth development initiatives across the province, while expanding opportunities for collaboration and partnership beyond the university.
