Hands-on Field Activity | Training-Workshop

Training-Workshop on Participatory Assessment, Monitoring, and Conservation of Biodiversity in Rivers and Riparian Zones within the Catubig Watershed 🌿💧

Today’s hands-on sampling was held at Site 01: Pinipisakan Falls, where participants gained practical experience in field data collection, biodiversity assessment techniques, and riparian monitoring methods.

This activity was conducted by CenSAAI in partnership with SGP7, highlighting the importance of community participation in protecting our river ecosystems and conserving biodiversity for future generations.

🌿💧 Training Workshop Successfully Concluded 💧🌿

The Training Workshop on Participatory Assessment, Monitoring, and Conservation of Biodiversity in Rivers and Riparian Zones in the Catubig Watershed, held on January 20–21, has been successfully completed.

The activity brought together community members, local partners, and stakeholders to strengthen knowledge and skills in assessing riparian and river biodiversity, monitoring ecosystem health, and promoting conservation through participatory approaches. The workshop emphasized the vital role of communities in protecting the plants, animals, and habitats that sustain our rivers and watershed.

This initiative marks an important step toward building informed, engaged, and environmentally responsible communities working together for healthier ecosystems and sustainable resource management.

Our sincere appreciation to all participants, facilitators, and partners who contributed to the success of this activity. The commitment to conserving the Catubig Watershed continues.

Days 1 and 2 of the Training-Workshop on Participatory Assessment, Monitoring, and Conservation of Biodiversity in Rivers and Riparian Zones within the Catubig Watershed have been successfully conducted! 🎉

This activity is organized by the Center for Sustainable Aquaculture and Agri-based Innovations (CenSAAI) through the UNDP–SGP7 funded project titled “Community-based Empowerment Strategies for Conservation and Management of Riparian Resources in the Catubig Watershed.” 💧🌱

The first two days introduced participants to the concepts of biodiversity conservation, participatory assessment methods, and community-based monitoring approaches essential for sustainable management of the Catubig watershed. 🌾🐟🌊

With active participation from local fishers, riparian communities, and partner institutions, the workshop set a strong foundation for the remaining sessions toward building empowered and environmentally responsible communities. 💚
