In a strategic move to boost local employment and bridge the gap between academe and the labor market, the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) Main Campus Alumni Association, Inc. has officially forged a partnership with the Northern Samar Provincial Employment Service Office (NSPESO) for the highly anticipated 2026 Ibabao Job Fair.
The mega employment event is scheduled to take place on June 11, 2026, at the Capitol Gym, Provincial Capitol in Catarman, Northern Samar.
To solidify the collaboration, a high-level courtesy visit and coordination meeting was recently conducted with key provincial employment officials. Representing the Alumni Regent and President of the UEP Main Campus Alumni Association, Inc., Hon. Luke Jensen R. Detera, is Prof. Julio O. Evardone, Jr., who serves concurrently as the associationโs Vice President for Internal Affairs and the University Job Placement Officer.
Prof. Evardone was warmly received by Ms. Rose Anne G. Suan, NSPESO Department Head, and Mr. Maurice A. de Guia, NSPESO Assistant Department Head.
The dialogue centered on aligning the university's placement strategies with the provincial government's employment initiatives. Through this partnership, the UEP Main Campus Alumni Association aims to actively mobilize its graduating class and unemployed alumni, ensuring they can leverage the vast career opportunities presented by the local, national, and overseas employers participating in the Ibabao Job Fair.
Hon. Luke Jensen R. Detera, in a statement shared regarding the partnership, emphasized the universityโs responsibility to its products beyond graduation.

The NSPESO, led by Ms. Suan and Mr. de Guia, expressed high optimism for the joint venture, noting that the active involvement of the province's premier state university significantly elevates the reach and impact of the annual job fair.
The upcoming 2026 Ibabao Job Fair is expected to gather dozens of employers from various industries, offering diverse openings ranging from entry-level positions to specialized corporate roles.
With the event just days away, both UEP and NSPESO urge all UEP alumni, graduating students, and jobseekers across Northern Samar to pre-register, prepare their updated resumes, and dress professionally as they take a definitive step toward cultivating their professional futures on June 11.
