The Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers โ€“ University of Eastern Philippines Chapter (JPSME-UEPC) took part in this yearโ€™s Balik Kampus uEPIC: Lush Life 2026 on September 17, 2026, at the Academic Circular Building.

With the goal of making the most of the occasion, JPSME-UEPC prepared activities that combined entertainment, student participation, and a small-scale entrepreneurial initiative. The organization featured โ€œShoot Mo Sakin,โ€ a basketball shooting game that challenged participants to successfully shoot a small basketball into a designated bucket. The activity welcomed 66 players and collected a total of โ‚ฑ1,320.00 in sales. After โ‚ฑ738.25 in expenses, the game generated โ‚ฑ581.75 in income.
Alongside the game, JPSME-UEPC partnered with Pastil ni Jhejhe, a food venture operated by students from the Mechanical Engineering Department, to offer Chicken Pastil during the event. What made the partnership particularly significant was that JPSME-UEPC did not have to provide an initial capital for the food inventory. Pastil ni Jhejhe generously allowed the organization to receive the products first and settle the payment after the items had been sold.
The food sales were conducted across three batches, with total recorded sales amounting to โ‚ฑ2,940.00. After the corresponding product and packaging expenses of โ‚ฑ2,440.00, the activity generated โ‚ฑ500.00 in income.

JPSME-UEPC also recorded โ‚ฑ188.00 in additional expenses related to the event. Taking these expenses into account, together with the income generated from โ€œShoot Mo Sakinโ€ and the Chicken Pastil sales, the organization recorded a total income of โ‚ฑ893.75.

Beyond the figures, Balik Kampus 2026 provided JPSME-UEPC with an opportunity to put initiative, cooperation, and resourcefulness into practice. The successful participation of the organization was made possible through the collective effort of its members, the support of the Mechanical Engineering Department community, and the trust extended by Pastil ni Jhejhe.
JPSME-UEPC extends its appreciation to everyone who supported the booth, participated in โ€œShoot Mo Sakin,โ€ purchased Chicken Pastil, and contributed to making the organizationโ€™s participation in Balik Kampus 2026 a meaningful and productive experience.

The Junior Philippine Society of Eastern Philippines (JPSME)- UEP Chapter stand in solid solidarity with The Pillar, Balangaw, The USC, and the entire students of the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) in defending our fellow students' rights, press freedom, and freedom of expression.

The 'agawan of banner' incident took place during the Balik Kampus 2026. The banner contained - "Junk House Bill 9414, 9816! Defend Press Freedom". A lot of students witnessed the security guards removing the banner, the initial reaction of The Pillar, USC President, and other students was to retrieve the banner. There was no explanation or statement about the removal of the banner.

Later on, a letter from the Office of the President was presented by the Head Security, stated that the evening program was cancelled. We were rushed to clean the booth and the lights of the Academic Building were cut-off during the restoration. We cleaned the place in complete darkness, and the police were present, the students were rushed to exit the building. A celebration intended to be fun became a bad experience for the students.

Our collective time, effort, and hard work were disregarded in an instant, and the administration has yet to provide a transparent, logical reason for the cancellation.

The JPSME Officers strongly condemn this blatant display of disrespect and unprofessionalism.

DEFEND PRESS FREEDOM!
RESPECT STUDENTS' VOICES!

โš™๏ธGear Up! As OJT Season Begins๐Ÿ‘ท๐Ÿป

The classroom has laid the foundationโ€”now it's time to step beyond its walls. As OJT season begins, every trainee is presented with the opportunity to transform knowledge into practice and aspirations into experience. This is more than just a course requirement; it is the beginning of understanding the realities of the profession you have chosen.

Every task completed, every challenge encountered, and every lesson learned contributes to your growth as a future professional. The journey may only last for a month, but the discipline, confidence, and experiences you gain will shape you far beyond your internship.

Take this opportunity to learn with humility, work with integrity, and grow with purpose. Make every day count, because today's experience becomes tomorrow's strength.

Padayon, trainees! Face every test, becoME your very best.

There are moments that remind us why every late night, every failed quiz, every deadline, every sacrifice, and every โ€œpadayonโ€ was worth it.

Today is one of those moments.

To the College of Engineering Class of 2026, congratulations. You have earned every bit of this achievement. Behind your smiles are stories that only you and the people who stood by you truly know. And that is what makes this day even more meaningful.

As you leave the halls of the College of Engineering, may you carry with you not only the knowledge youโ€™ve gained, but also the resilience, humility, and heart that brought you here. The future is waiting, and we have no doubt that youโ€™ll build more than structures, youโ€™ll build lives, communities, and a better tomorrow.

Congratulations, graduates. The College of Engineering will always be proud to call you its own.
