✨ 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 in 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻—these were both present last Saturday, September 14, 2025, during the launch of 𝘒𝘙𝘌𝘈𝘛𝘐𝘉𝘚 under the stewardship of the City Government of Carmona through 𝘓𝘌𝘋𝘐𝘗𝘖. The event was vibrant with new ideas and motivational tales with participants and speakers dedicated to the Creative Industry. From publishing, film and fashion to music, dance and crafts, it was a gathering of a singular devotion: the joy of making and representing one’s self. 😉

It has come to a successful close, bringing together students in a vibrant display of skill, teamwork, and house pride. From the courts to the stage, every competition was filled with passion and determination, making this year’s intramurals a true celebration of sportsmanship! ⛹🏻‍♀️

Across all events, each house showcased their strengths—dominating in volleyball, basketball, badminton, dancesport, sepak takraw, billiards, table tennis, chess, and e-sports. Champions rose in glory, yet every participant left their mark through hard work, resilience, and unity that inspired the entire school community! 🏫

𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗜𝗔 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 🌤

🔥🌪 — 𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘?

Fire tornadoes, also known as fire whirls or fire devils, forms when extreme heat and turbulent winds pull flames into a spinning vortex. Unlike traditional tornadoes from thunderstorms, fire tornadoes rise from wildfires or large blazes, creating funnels of fire that can reach frightening heights and scorch everything in their path.

These fiery vortices can tower 300 to 400 feet tall and measure 20 to 50 feet wide. Inside the blazing column, temperatures soar to around 2,000°F (1,093°C), hot enough to melt some metals. Spinning with wind speeds of 100 to 300 mph, they whip debris and flames into the air with terrifying intensity.

Despite their destructive nature, fire tornadoes usually move forward at only 5 to 7 mph, lasting anywhere from a few minutes to an hour. Rare but deadly, they highlight the dangerous, unpredictable power of wildfires.

Good day, Atomies! 🌤️ Here’s a quick look at the weather in Carmona this week.

We’ll be starting the week with some rainy days; expect an 86% chance of rain on Monday and 83% on Tuesday, with slightly cooler air. By midweek up to Friday, the weather will turn warmer at around 30°–31°, and the chances of rain will slowly drop to about 62% by Friday. Still, the humidity will stay on the higher side, between 73% to 86%, with light winds blowing at 8–12 km/h.

So don’t forget to pack your umbrellas or raincoats to stay dry, and keep your water bottles close to stay refreshed in the heat. Dress comfortably for both rainy and warm days, and be extra careful on your way to and from school.

🐙— Did you know ?

Did you know that octopuses don't have one, but three hearts? Their two peripheral hearts pump blood through the gills, where it picks up oxygen. A central heart then circulates the oxygenated blood to the rest of its body to provide energy for organs and muscles.

Octopuses are known as cephalopods, which literally mean “head foot”, describing their truncated anatomy. Octopuses are related to squids, cuttlefish and nautiluses, which means they have blue blood, because it uses a copper-rich protein to transport oxygen.

Humans have red blood because it gets its color from an iron-based protein called hemoglobin. Cephalopods use a copper-based protein called “haemocyanin”. It's larger and circulates in the blood plasma — less efficient at binding with oxygen.

🐢 — 𝑫𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘 ?

Turtles are the ancient reptiles existing even before dinosaurs, and their shells are part of their skeleton, composed of over 50 bones including the rib cage and spine.

They are recognized by their bony, cartilaginous shell, it protects them from predators—some of them can even tuck there head up inside their shell for extra protection. Some of them can breathe through their butt (cloacal respiration) when underwater for long periods.

They can migrate thousands of miles and still return to the exact same beach where they were born. And do they have any teeth? They don't. Instead of teeth, they have a beak-like mouth made of keratin, the same material as fingernails. This hard, sharp beak helps them grasp and tear food.

🏔️— 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰?

Mount Everest grows at an estimated rate of about 2 mm per year. This growth is primarily caused by the collision between the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates, which forces the Himalayan region—including Everest—upward. Seismic activity (earthquakes), geological uplift, and isostatic rebound due to erosion also contribute to its rise. As erosion removes massive amounts of rock from surrounding areas, the crust beneath responds by lifting upward, giving Everest an additional boost over time. 😳📈

While the annual growth may seem minor, it reflects powerful forces at work beneath Earth’s surface. This slow but steady rise is a reminder that our planet is constantly reshaping itself, even in ways we can't see. Everest’s ascent is more than just a geographic fact — it’s a symbol of Earth’s living, moving nature, shaped by time, tectonics, and transformation. 🤓🌱
