On the afternoon of June 3, less than 48 hours before our event, we faced a sudden and overwhelming challenge: 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑙𝑢𝑛𝑐ℎ 𝑠𝑢𝑝𝑝𝑜𝑟𝑡 𝑢𝑛𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑒𝑑𝑙𝑦 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑙 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ.

This wasn’t just a missed meal for two. It meant that 𝟖𝟕 people—60 children, 12 JCI facilitators, 10 youth volunteers, and 5 CCYO UPOI officers who dedicated their time to the Kidtrepreneurship Program—were left without sustenance.

​For a moment, the weight of the situation hit us heavily. 𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑐𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑖𝑠 𝑤𝑒 ℎ𝑎𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑓𝑎𝑐𝑒 𝑞𝑢𝑖𝑒𝑡𝑙𝑦, 𝑢𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑙𝑦, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑙𝑜𝑐𝑘. But instead of letting panic take over, 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝.

As President of CCYO Urban Poor Organization Inc., my heart overflows with gratitude for our Private Benefactors—my close friends, batchmates, schoolmates, cousins, aunts, and kind-hearted supporters. Without a second thought, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐩, sharing what you had so that we could deliver on the promise we made.

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐨 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 than financial aid. 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭. 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. 𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑎 𝑏𝑒𝑎𝑢𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑢𝑙 𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑤ℎ𝑒𝑛 𝑎 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 𝑖𝑠 𝑟𝑜𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑑 𝑖𝑛 𝑝𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠, 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, we served with dignity. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, our children, volunteers and JCI facilitators were well cared for. 𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮, CCYO UPOI stood firmly by its commitment.

​𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐭 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒖𝒔, for responding expeditiously in our hour of need, and for being the reason everyone experienced not just food on their plates, but 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 of 𝒉𝒐𝒑𝒆, 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑, and 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆.

Our sincere thanks as well to City Councilor Lorena Mae Tabora for providing snacks for around 80 participants, facilitators, and volunteers during the Kidtrepreneurship Program. Your kindness helped keep the children energized throughout the day.

We also thank Pob. 3 SK Chairman Joshua Cabunillas not onyly for his cash donation, but also for actively managing and coordinating with his SK Volunteers for the YLEA slots of Maximina Barangan Elementary School, Carcar Academy Technical School, Carcar Central National High School, and Liburon National High School. Your hands-on support helped ensure that more deserving student-leaders were reached, guided, and properly represented.

"Planting the seeds of entrepreneurship early, watching them grow for a lifetime." 🌱

The JCI Kidtrepreneurship event was an absolute blast! Seeing the bright smiles, high energy, and pure excitement on these kids' faces made every bit of effort worth it.

Last June 05, 2026 (friday), we had the privilege of hosting the JCI Kidtrepreneurship event. It was truly inspiring to watch the children put on their aprons, hairnets, and gloves, ready to learn practical skills that will help them in the future.

They didn't just walk away with delicious treats and fun memories—they walked away with new knowledge, confidence, and the mindset that they can build something of their own.
But it wasn't just all fun and games---our "Little Entrepreneurs" genuinely learned so much! From getting their hands messy, learning how to craft delicious treats to discovering the basics of business, they showed incredible creativity and potential.
