HITOMA, Caramoran, Catanduanes — The Grade 12 graduating students of the Caramoran School of Fisheries (CSF) successfully held their SHS Culminating Activity on March 18, 2026, at the CSF Multipurpose Hall.
The event featured student research presentations and a seminar-workshop facilitated by members of the CSF Alumni Association and representatives from TESDA Cabugao.
The full-day activity was spearheaded by the school administration, led by Principal Allan Benoyo and SHS Coordinator Renalyn T. Silva, in partnership with the Alumni Association.
It was designed to showcase students’ academic outputs while equipping them with practical knowledge in employment, livelihood, financial management, and career preparation.
The program began with registration from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., followed by the singing of the national anthem and an opening prayer via an audio-visual presentation.
In her welcome remarks, Silva encouraged students to actively participate and maximize the learning opportunities provided by the school and the invited resource speakers.
A highlight of the morning session was the research presentation by Elwina Alano of HUMSS and Jonimae Ermido of CSS. Their work demonstrated the students’ academic preparation, research skills, and ability to communicate findings confidently before an audience.
The seminar-workshop then addressed key topics essential for the students’ transition from senior high school to higher education, employment, and entrepreneurship.
Ferdinand M. Brizo, CSF Alumni President, Catanduanes State University (CatSU) faculty and a media practitioner, led sessions on Digital Freelancing, introducing online work opportunities and the skills required to excel in digital platforms, and Technical Interview Mastery, focusing on professional communication, confidence building, and strategies for effective interview responses.
For technical and livelihood-oriented skills, Zaldy B. Bueno presented Technical Skills–SMAW, providing an introduction to Shielded Metal Arc Welding and highlighting the importance of technical-vocational competencies for employment.
Meanwhile, Eddie Millon, CSF alumnus and CatSU professor, discussed Agri-Business, inspiring students to view agriculture not only as a food source but also as a viable and sustainable business opportunity.
Sir Alvin Ibardaloza of TESDA Cabugao and a former faculty of CSF for 10 years delivered a session on Financial Literacy, emphasizing budgeting, saving, responsible spending, and financial planning to help students establish sound money management habits for college, work, or independent living.
The program also featured intermission performances and a runway presentation by Grade 12–Frugality, adding engagement and variety to the day’s proceedings.
The event concluded with closing remarks delivered by Maricel Araujo, with students expressing appreciation for the meaningful topics that opened their minds to the next stages of their lives.
On behalf of the Principal, Teacher Gerard Tuno extended special accolades to the resource speakers, acknowledging their commitment despite rising fuel costs.
Their shared expertise and guidance served as crucial motivation for the graduating students, helping them navigate the next steps in their academic and professional journeys.
The skills, knowledge, and insights provided will play a key role in their success and future contributions as CSF alumni.
School teachers and officials noted that the culminating activity not only celebrated the achievements of the graduating students but also prepared them for life beyond senior high school.
Through the participation of alumni and partner speakers, students gained practical insights and renewed confidence to pursue their future plans with competence, determination, and optimism.
